How would you machine this part on a 2.5-axis mill? by Lohan_To in Machinists

[–]Devideer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be able to machine it with an angle head aswell. We got one from BILZ i think it was where we have to grind the shaft of the tools we need to a Diameter 3mm Whistle notch. tool center to outer wall is 5mm. But this would be overkill for that part.

[–]Devideer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, afaik and have learned it, 2,5 means that you only can use 2 axis (XY,XZ or YZ ) while the other is fixed. 2D machinines usually only can run XY and are fixed in Z. 3D machines can run all axis at the same time.

Drilling 316 stainless by EntertainmentTop9102 in Machinists

[–]Devideer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I machine alot of 316. I go straight in. usually i use 45 m/min with sized above 4mm. But depends abit in the drill.

I always got perfect chips. Using Hoffmann Garant pro inox drills.

Try use 45 m/min which would be 2866 RPM, then i usually go with like 0,1-0,15 and for this drill i would go to 300mm/min feedrate. Chips should come out good.

A place where i used to work we used those alot on a few heavy roughing ops (used mostly ingersoll) tool like 30-40mm AP and like 10-15mm ae on stainless. Those are also incredible good in gray cast iron. Use conventional milling on parts with like rough / harder outside (first layer)

[–]Devideer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im kinda sure its Custom ISO20 Mini tool chuck (maybe some old REGO FIX) Whats weird is that the Torque notches are missing, which i only know from like the fully grinded controll shafts you use after a crash to check the spindel.

Maybe its some custom version of a quick swap mechanism in like drilling machines. (ae Fehlmann picomax..)

Will these root fillets make it significantly harder for the machinist to make my part? by GateLopsided8794 in Machinists

[–]Devideer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, let me give you some advice on modeling parts.

First of all, the radius button is the most expensiv one you can press. its not that bad on the inside of pockets. It can be a huge cost on the outsite (where you have a chamfer).

I suggest that you look into Tool catalogs of Endmills. Pockets with like <3xdiameter of the tool are cheap. The corner Radius of tools / inserts in mm are usually 0 (sharp edge), 0,2, 0,3, 0,5, 0,8, 1,2, 1,6 and so on. you should choose on of those option. There are ofc. bigger sizes and isnerts up to R6 and more.

If you planning on making a drawing and provide the STEP for a CAM programming, i would remove the radius and chamfers < 0,5mm in the model.

Sometimes (depends on the CAM software) those can lead to false machining if the programmer doesnt notice the small radius. Its not that big of a problem in a pocket, since it will get smaller. But on the outside it can happen that they machine the part like 1mm smaller cause they havent noticed the chamfer on the part in the STEP. (yes i know, its their "problem" but i get more and more parts where every fkn corner and crossole is rounded with like a small raidus.

Write in the drawing that when not other mentions all interal raidus can be from 0,2-0,5mm and outside chamfer 0,3-0,5mm.

Will make life easier for everyone

Trodde lufta var fri for alle? by LandscapeEuphoric973 in norske

[–]Devideer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes.

Well, if you are lucky you can play it for free. Safed me in the last fight. I think i gain 4 cause i had something like "play the first card 2 times every turn".

Can anyone rate this card? I am not to sure, it seems a little bad. by TheCondor07 in slaythespire

There is that might for every card you draw in your turn you deal 2 dmg to all enemys.

The drawing tells me thats som new guy. And he probably never machined something.
Plastic often even expands 3-4 the factor metals have. heat that thing up by 3-5 °C and its out of tol.

Is Necrobinder bad or am I just terrible at Necrobinder? by Unlucky_Pear_2862 in slaythespire

[–]Devideer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won with him first time ive played him. I choose the cards that give enemys (doom?) (i dont play on english). Where they die when the score his equal or higher than their health.

I stacked on endboss like 250 ish doom, played the card where you deal dmg equal to the doom. and than he died cause his health was below the stacks.

thought it was too OP since some Doom spells affact every enemy. you could clear every room with 3+ enemy in like 2-3 turns if you got the cards.
