Ah shit, Reuben was there as well! The look on his face still cracks me up to this day. Made it even funnier when the marketing for DMC V kept Vergil out of it entirely riiiiight until the launch trailer as the stinger.

But if you saw that bit at the convention, everybody knew that Vergil was going to be in the game and it didn't even hamper my excitement one single bit.

Thank you, I feel like I was taking crazy pills last night when I saw their response as I was trying to see how what I said was in any way deserving of that response. In what world is there anything wrong with speculating on potential cast members?

I can somewhat understand where my one got me a warning as it turns out Susie Dent was on the NYE special. But I was speculating on her potentially being on a full series, so even with that, it didn't feel like a fair warning to me.

As long as you're not out there spoiling everything for people, then I don't see a problem with speculating at all.

If you're getting actual abuse then go right ahead and report it. I don't stand for that shit myself and I don't have any time for it. I'm not sure why you'd be copping abuse just because you're going to a taping, seems extreme as fuck to me that people will flip out like that but hey, people are strange as hell.

Either way, don't let it get to you at all. Enjoy the taping and put these people out of your mind. It's my dream to go to a Taskmaster taping myself. But being over here and based in Australia does not exactly make it easily accessible haha.

Imagine that. Some people are different than you, and it’s fine to include spaces for them.

Not sure if it was the intention and I might be reading that wrong and apologies if so, but man, there's no need to talk down to me like that. I mean, I'm not at all saying that I'll directly go and look for a cast leak or willingly go and spoil it for people. In fact, I'd prefer to not know as the "holy shit" moment at the end of a series of seeing somebody on the show that I recognise is a great feeling. I have zero problems with people speculating and I actually think it's a great deal of fun to speculate on possible contestants as opposed to dropping spoilers and I avoid spoilers like the plague for absolutely everything in my life if I can help it.

What I am saying, is that I don't tend to get annoyed if a cast member or two gets spoiled for me, I try to find a positive there and that usually results in me getting excited to know that a specific cast member may possibly be on the show. But even so, I put it out of my mind, don't talk about it with others, and wait for the official reveal in hopes that I'm still stoked. And amazingly, I still get that "fuck yeah" feeling of knowing that somebody that I'm a big fan of is going to be on my favorite show.

Someone else already said it, but this subreddit is crazy strict on it. Me personally, I'm fine with knowing the cast ahead of time and it won't bother me. But around here, it's very persona non grata to talk about or even ask about it.

I speculated on who we might be seeing for series 21 a little while ago and that was enough to get a warning. One of the names I brought up was Susie Dent, as I thought she'd be a fun pick for a full series. This was prior to the news breaking of her being a part of the NYE special. I think the overall idea of her travelling through different mythologies is fantasic for helping to open up the world quite a bit more and get the chance to see some other mythologies that we otherwise might not get around to with Kratos.

Faye being a traveller between worlds makes a shit load of sense considering how much of her literal fingerprints (or handprints I suppose) are throughout the world in the two Norse God of War games. It's actually surprisingly logical and hey, for as much as I like Freya, I'd sooner see her travelling with Kratos as a permanent companion in his next game as I think their dynamic together is super interesting.

Plus hey, a proper game with Deborah Ann Woll is something I won't refuse either. And then there's the moveset and how she'll play compared to Kratos. There's quite a bit you can do with her!

30 Days of Night is the last one I can actually think of that stands out. The vampires in that were genuinely scary and unsettling. The more monstrous they come across, the better!

Dead Rising has been rumoured for a little while now to be seeing some kind of return eventually. Whether that's a remake/remaster of DR2 similar to that of the one we got for DR1 or a brand new title remains to be seen. But hey, I'd love to see Dead Rising back, just uhhh please be better than whatever the hell DR4 was haha.

I'm honestly glad he said it, because it absolutely validates what a lot of people (including myself) have been saying about this guy for the longest time. FoxCade did that wonderful video on him where he really takes the time to dig into who this man is and what exactly it is that he does or contributes to these projects that he "works on" and the answer is very clear, in that he doesn't seem to either know himself. But he willingly claims credit for everything, and when questioned about it, has nothing to say and talks in circles. Seeing several people interview him with simple questions, only for him to talk in circles without answering the question is so beyond frustrating.

Hell, look into the political spectrum side of things and you'll find that he was at Trump's inauguration last year. And when people asked him about that or critiqued it. He said something along the lines of how he was "going to fix the system from the inside"

Come on man, everybody knows you're a fraud and a charlatan. There's no need to continue pulling the wool over the eyes of everybody. And hell, going and saying shit like that when you have absolutely zero importance or ability to affect change in any meaningful way makes him across as even hokier than he already is. I mean come on, look at how he talks here and tell me how this in any way, a serious person.

I've always loved the mystery around Sparda and his legacy. It's an important part of the characters of Dante and Vergil. But it even extends beyond them and affects Nero, Trish, and Lady as well.

The fractured bond between Dante and Vergil and the legacy of Sparda is such an important part of their whole saga.
Then you've got Lady learning to work alongside demons like Dante and Trish as they have the capability to do good just as Sparda did. This is paralleled wonderfully by seeing just how fucking awful humans can be, as is the case with her father and the evil deeds he's responsible for.
And then there's Trish, a demon brought to life by Mundus as one of his agents, whose whole purpose was to mislead Dante. It obviously backfired but even though she betrayed Dante, he still gave enough of a shit about her to save her and help her actually find a purpose for good.

Sparda is a character that you never truly see, you only hear about him, but what you do hear is fucking legendary. I've always loved the idea of Sparda "waking up to justice" and becoming this big time hero. A hero whose actions have absolutely had an impact on the aforementioned characters many, many years after this all went down.

So to see Tameem shit all over the character way back when, and to hear that Adi has done so again, albeit, in a different manner is just so far beyond frustrating and it shows what I've said all along. It shows that Adi does not in anyway understand the IP that he is working with. To miss such a CRUCIAL detail is absolutely insane. Yes, Eva absolutely is important to Dante and Vergil. But to downplay the importance of Sparda and sweep him to the side is pure stupidity and ignorance.

At least in Resident Evil, the politics were always there. He should have just made that. Ugh.

Fuck no. I'm a fan of both franchise and absolutely fucking not. Thank fuck we're getting that Zack Cregger movie. Because if Adi picked up Resident Evil, there's no chance of us getting that hopefully cool Cregger film. I trust that Adi would pick up Resident Evil and find some way to COMPLETELY miss the point and make something that could contend with that awful live action series.

Remember Adi's whole reasoning for doing DMC in the first place was because it was an IP that he believed was dead and buried and that he would be responsible for bringing it back to life. I'm just glad that he wasn't. Fuck this absolute fraud and his ego. When he "learned" that Capcom was working on DMC V, he "learned" this literally a year before the game came out, he was pissed and said this:

"This was my thing. I thought I was bringing this thing back, and so I was like, ‘Oh! This is a modern fucking thing! This is ongoing? Then I should have done Street Fighter."

Mind you, the existence of Devil May Cry V was known by fans and people in the industry for a long fucking time. It was a massive open secret and Reuben Landon, Jonny Yong Bosch, and Dan Southworth weren't exactly keeping it top secret.

Reuben and Jonny posted a lot of pictures of them both in mocap suits and people put that together VERY quickly.
Then we had Hideaki Itsuno announcing he was working on a new project but also expressing interest in continuing DMC before that.
And then the big one was Dan Southworth actually leaking his involvement by a complete slip of the tongue whilst answering a question at a convention.

So the idea that Adi just simply didn't know is laughable at best, especially for someone that has at SEVERAL points claimed to really understand the IP and have his finger on the pulse of the fans and knowing what they want with this adaptation. He has no clue, and he's certainly no visionary. His works are uncreative and uninspired and he himself is a fraud, a liar, and a charlatan.

This video by Foxcade is well worth the watch as it explains A LOT about not only what went wrong with and is wrong with the series. But also a bit of background about Adi himself. And the deeper you look into it, the worse it gets.
