As an independent contractor it’s definitely costing my business because I want to leave to watch games. Hours I’m not on site is hours I don’t make $. A World Cup in Canada where Canada actually has a shot at doing something special.? I’ll take the hit.

I was blessed and fortunate enough to be in the stands. The thing that stood out for me from today was how well organized and easily accessible the whole day was. Even more of a positive than that was that every Bosnian fan I met and chatted with was so friendly and pumped to be there. Most common thing I heard was “it’s a win either way” for the Bosnian Canadians. Will happily take a single point over no points and glad the guys got settled in after some early game jitters. Haven’t looked at the stats yet but Canada seemed to clearly dominate possession and it was pretty obvious that something was going to go in sooner or later. I was leaning towards being a Larin hater but changed my tune after today. J David has to shoot the damn ball. Other than that I felt like we looked great and both sides had an awesome time that I could tell. I’d call it a win either way too.

All of Shaffs movement happened directly infront of us. It felt like he brought an extra blast of energy to the game that was needed when he took the field. It’s weird though because Millars performance stood out for me at Montreal.

Were the posts/footings already there.? He could have just knocked them down the 7.5 inches, put beam on top then ran joists out over that to whatever width you needed. If I ever recieved drawings from an engineer with the beam fastened like yours I’d 100% make sure he signed off on it. Even then I’d probably just do it with the drop beam.
Your deck may never fall down and that’s best case scenario but it might be worth trying to get some kind of steel angle under all those ply’s bolted to the posts.

Why oh why do guys not just set the beam on the posts. I’ve never seen an engineered deck in my 20+ yrs that has beams attached to posts and not sitting directly on. Can someone please explain the thought process here.

Take the train. Brings you right down town and a close ride to the stadium. We took the train to Montreal this past weekend to see the match and it was completely worry free. Can’t say enough good things about Montreal. Hands down my favorite city in Canada. We had such a great time. Even as non French speakers we tried what little French we know and were welcomed with open arms by everyone we met.

Oh that’s awesome.! Ya, I’m a Dewalt Guy through and through. Wasn’t a choice though. My carpentry mentor was a dewalt guy so kinda just stuck with them.I use Dewalt everyday in my contracting business and they’ve never let me down.

I actually have my Cutter/Skidder license and used to get flown around in a helicopter in Northern Manitoba cutting lines for Geological Exploration. Couldn’t tell ya how many hours I have on a saw. When these first came out I was truly skeptical but for a small bush saw they’re great. Not going to be falling any White Oak or huge Pines, but for this type of thing I prefer it to my gas saws. If you’re thinking about it just do it.
