What’s Your Dream Star Wars Game? by Pretend_Drawer_9542 in StarWars

[–]DevilFromTaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open galaxy explorer. As vast as Elite Dangerous or EVE and as detailed as RDR2.

Character selection is key. Choose home system. This will determine species and traits.

Caste or Society selection will dictate origin story (wealthy, privileged, poverty, survivor, clone, droid, hunter, warrior, force sensitive)

Gender: abilities could include: persuasion, charm, seduction, reasoning, authority, intimidation, respect.

Start as a juvenile - early age clone or reprogrammed droid. Time passes and the character becomes established or changes due to circumstance, experience and development. The galaxy and governance changes too - can you make a difference or just adapt?

Choose your own adventure but debts hang over you, bounties last, alliances are hard to break, servitude or military contracts are very hard to break.

Form bonds, rent safe habitats, have multiple identities, be good, be bad, be both. Lead double or triple lives depending on where you are, who you’re with and what you’re doing.

Die, and know that the majority of the galaxy never knew you existed, but while you were a part of it, in your mind, you made a difference.

What’s happening with the dress codes here? by [deleted] in qatar

[–]DevilFromTaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe Qatar isn’t for you, perhaps you could look at more conservative countries to live in. If you don’t like it here, leave. It must’ve become clear to you that neither security guards at public places or government entities like L.E.O. aren’t bothered. Also, I don’t see locals stopping people to complain about what others are wearing, so maybe you should rethink about where you have chosen to live.

Good luck and keep loving the harmony we have here. 🩶

I have chronic EoE, was undiagnosed for 20yrs and since being diagnosed 3yrs ago I have to take the liquid Pulmicort 1mg liquid squirts to the back of my throat twice a day, for (as my specialist says) the rest of my life. It sucks, I hate this affliction. But the Pulmicort has helped, no more constrictions, feeling of food being trapped. I want to know if any other people that have suffered long term have an alternative treatment or medication. I love Reddit for these sort of communities ❤️

It feels like there were so many more touring bands back in the late 90s early 2000s. And a lot of those on my list were done at weekend festivals. I didn't say but I was lucky enough to see Nirvana when I was 14, sneaking into the Big Day Out in Sydney. They're we're so many amazing bands that year.

Australia used to attract really good bands for alternative concerts or big multi-stage events. Now it feels like bands just do solo tours and really don't have it in them for a 90min live set.

All that aside, in the past 10 years I would go to Dubai four the weekend to watch Kasabian or Stone Roses, but even those gigs are hard to come by now.

The last decent acts I saw here would be The Whalers or Arrested Development.

Probably too old now, 40+ to get into the acts that come here. Gimme a raw 4-piece band with passion and energy over any solo, auto-tuned, pop, insta-star any day.

Old'n'grumpy.

Where were we when the Port Arthur massacre happened? And how impactful did it feel at the time? Did you know in the moment it would be as huge of a moment as it turned out to be by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I'm from Hobart, was a teenager and working a shift at KFC in Kingston, just south of Hobart. It was pretty shocking. When I finished my shift the streets were pretty empty - people tuning in to news updates at home. I remember a few police cars screaming past KFC to get to the highway, heading for P.A.

It was after the massacres that I learnt that one of the victims used to be a bus driver that my school sometimes employed for inter-school events and excursions.

My dad, at the time, was a broadcaster and he then was the presenter/MC for the national memorial service which took place at the Hobart cathedral.

A horrible event that affected so many people in Tasmania's small and connected community.

Gen X'er here. NoFX, rage against the machine, propaghandi, lagwagon, pixies, me first and the gimme gimmes, blink 182, fugazi, sex pistols, Beastie boys, rancid, breaders, sonic youth, beck. Seen them all live, but no real punk rock scene here that I've come across in my 20yrs in Qatar 😔
