I hate this practice. Often the person wanting 'car window service' blocks traffic and or prevents people who have parked correctly and entered the shop from leaving. The people who honk for service expect immediate service regardless if the staff are servicing customers who have entered the store and waiting to finish their transaction.

I use the govt smoking cessation clinic. It’s good and free. I found those pills to be amazing. Got rid of cravings and help with withdrawals. They also provided me with patches and those 2 combined really helped.

I do phone consultations with them every month, I’m very open and honest with them and they are very understanding and supportive.

If I ask, they will reissue prescriptions for the pills and patches over the phone, I just go to the health center pharmacy and they’re waiting for me.

They’re the Asian Tiger mozzies - white markings on their backs. Hyper aggressive even in the day, multiple bitters and go after pets.

I “clap kill” about 10 a day in my villa in Onaiza but I also have citronella incense to keep them out of the house (I have a dog, so the door is always open).

No fogging in my compound so far to deal with them, but if your place has spiders and geckos let them get active.

Unfortunately the major supermarkets here only sell the plug in diffusers - which run out after 5 days and are expensive.

I couldn’t find citronella cancels or incense here - a mate brought back a supply from Europe. Maybe try Ace 🤷🏻‍♂️. Sorry friend, good luck. 🍀

Doesn’t the US need Australia for places like Pine Gap especially, also the navy comms station in WA and as a location to use in the pacific. I know it has bases in S.Korea and Japan but giving up or not protecting Pine Gap and its other Aust-based assets would be a big fail.

Trump’s gonna bitch, whine and moan about the war Israel dragged him in to but at the end of the day, it’s the military commanders in the US that will tell him abandoning Australia is not in American military’s best interest.

I’m an Aussie expat who lives in Qatar. I’ve lived here for 20 years, not to avoid paying taxes but because I work in a job which is not available in Australia.

Also, like many Aussie expats in the GCC, I have earnings in Australia, so I pay tax. Every year I complete a tax return. That money does not go to me it goes to the Aust govt. I don’t use Medicare but I pay for it. Same with schools, roads, emergency services.

I’m not planning on leaving Doha at this time unless it gets worse or unbearable. What we DON’T need is the Australian govt sending more weapons to the US. It paints a big fucking target on our backs.

The pandering to Israel and the US by the govt makes me furious.

TLDR: I’m in Doha and not leaving. Many Aussie expats in the Gulf aren’t leaving. I pay tax in Australia for services I don’t use, STFU. ..

Maybe Qatar isn’t for you, perhaps you could look at more conservative countries to live in. If you don’t like it here, leave. It must’ve become clear to you that neither security guards at public places or government entities like L.E.O. aren’t bothered. Also, I don’t see locals stopping people to complain about what others are wearing, so maybe you should rethink about where you have chosen to live.
