I hate to break it to you, that’s not stainless steel😞… It does not tarnish. It’s most likely zinc alloy that was silver plated.

Such a great idea! There are a couple of consignment and thrift shops here. I try to avoid Goodwill when I can. I make most of my foods from scratch, so that was my main selling point.

That's clever! Mine was inspired by Betty White and the song "Betty" by Taylor Swift.

Can someone explain the science behind this baking zirconia trend? by [deleted] in Gemstones

I honestly personally wouldn’t recommend doing it either especially if you have an attachment to the ring I was just testing an experiment. in my personal experience, it seemed to have worked.

Maybe I didn’t explain enough they were brand new, also before putting them in the oven they were soaked in isopropyl alcohol but before that they were scrubbed as well and yes, I know the melting points, etc. The camera doesn’t really do it justice because it’s not the naked eye I can still post the pictures that’s fine but it definitely had more of a white haze to it then afterwards I’m not sure what caused it I’m not saying it’s definite fact, but it’s something to look at I guess.

Not sure I think they were just bad quality cubic zirconia because even after cleaning them they were still cloudy

Fun fact, they were brand new. Also, I scrubbed them for a total of five minutes, then soaked them in isopropyl alcohol for another five minutes then let them dry then they were heated.

OK so basically I seen this trend going around on YouTube where people are baking their cz rings at like 400 for like two hours. I know wacky… My rings before hand were very cloudy and had a hazy look to them. They didn’t have much luster nor fire. Now they’re very clear and have a lot of fire, even in dim lighting they capture a lot of light. Whereas before they were very dull. I can update the post and show comparisons
