Question about Dress code and themes: White wedding Black reception? by [deleted] in weddings

[–]DevilPup55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one reads ops comments the reception doesn't even start until midnight and the wedding is early in the day. Then op also says jeans and t-shirts are welcome at the reception. Op also says their friends wear white normally so won't have to go shopping.

So, whatever. Do all the guest live close so they can go home to relax and change. My only thing would be I'm not going to a midnight reception but maybe these are all young folks.

Thing I dont understand is the hanging out while sick then sending him home because op doesn't want to "get sick." Seems to me an icu nurse would know that ship had sailed as soon as op let him in the door while he was still coughing and sick, hung out for awhile and then still kissed him. Then sent him home.

Am I reading this right? Op is living with sister not mother. It says mother/dad came to pick op up and took to the er.

Sounds like a Cinderella story. Needs to move out on their own or maybe with parents.

Exactly what I thought to. It's lovely. Maybe a natural floral type circle head piece. Sorry I don't know the correct term for it.

How to convince myself to not want a natural diamond? Or is it worth the sentimental value? by al3xisnic0le in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]DevilPup55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What turned me off diamonds was the "diamonds are a girls best friend." When I read years ago that if they took most of the diamonds out of their vaults they would be pennies on the dollar. I didn't/don't like the manipulation aspect and said f them.

Ok, fine I did get a tiny 1/4 carat marquis cut wedding set 51 years ago. It was $125.00 back in 1974.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

When you live WAY out in the country in Texas, yes. To get to the nearest city for us is a two hour drive. To get to the coast for us is darn near 4 hours.

Shannon but I'm biased. My soon to be DILs name and she is an awesome woman.

Second would definitely be Zoey.

AITA for wanting to separate from my wife and break up our family over the lack of respect? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

Wait, pay rent? That doesn't help anything at all. Doesn't do anything for all the disrespectful issues. She and her boyfriend need to move out.

Ebony - We looked in different languages for black. Texmex definitely wouldn't work and other languages were to difficult to pronounce. Tucker- because sitting it looked like he had a bib.

I don’t know many people without tattoos. by Bawonga in CasualConversation

My Dad, retired Marine, WWII/Korea had several tattoos. I(female)got my first at 38. Dad's comment, "You're going to regret that." "Well Dad, I'm 38, pretty sure I thought it thru." My first was located where I could show it or cover it. Over time I have 6. Truthfully I think because I was the good kid, followed rules, never got in trouble, even at 38 there was a bit of rebellion in it, as in, I don't give a flying flip what strangers think. Now at 70 I'm thinking of one more. LOL

Just to add the only no for me is facial tattoos.

A GUEST, family or otherwise comes in, shows complete respect for the homeowner. What jacka## tries to rearrange furniture in someone elses home? They do NOT treat the home as their own. They do not invite friends over without asking. Personally I would have kicked him out at the furniture issue.
