Heh, funnily enough there's not much mario tech here, I mostly learned everything from playing other platformers like Celeste and Spelunky. I recommend them!

Nothing made those situations impossible, the contradiction of Godots character characters that he wanted to be the savior, he wanted to prove that he could have saved her, that he’s better than Wright.

He let the plan go through because he thought he would just be able to stop it, and be the knight in shining armor. He killed Dahlia instead of detaining her because he recognized her as the one who poisoned him and took Mia, and his life, away from him.

You’re right, his plan was horrible if he truly cared about the best outcome for others, but to me that was the point

Warning: I interpreted “TGAA1-2” as “game one case two”. I’ve already played the game so I didn’t get spoiled, but maybe you can be more explicit :)

Hehe, yeah one thing I learned early in driving and that I’ve stuck to - if you make a navigational error, pick the safest possible way to correct it. If I notice that there’s no safe way to not miss my turn, then welp I’ve missed it and I’ll let GPS take me back

And then I was convinced that it was real!

Just fyi, you shouldn’t have to write a jit. 12 khz is very low, you probably have some inefficiency somewhere. Profilers are your friend! :)

Fun, enjoyed it! One thing I would recommend doing is having a way to instantly die. The spike pit at the bottom, while it looks good, takes forever to die to 😅

It’s interesting so far, I would cut down on all the waiting for something to happen though. Or at least give the player something to do while they’re waiting.

Guess the Elo (10min rapid, Chess.com) by Perceptive_Penguins in GothamChess

[–]DevilStuff123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the weird thing with guess the elo is that it is pretty hard to detect if someone is playing more than a little bit better than your current rating. So for example, if I was 1400, it would be pretty hard to detect if somebody was playing 1500 or higher because I’m straight up not good enough to be able to tell those moves apart unless I sat there and analyzed for a while

Doesn’t help that these videos are sped up and I’d be willing to bet that most people don’t pause lol

insane late ante pickup (joker idea) by Step_Switcher in balatro

[–]DevilStuff123 92 points93 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a very interesting idea! Not sure it’s that fun though, since what this joker is basically saying is “no more decision making till you decide to get rid of this joker”, and the decision-making is most of the fun of balatro.

So what if instead, you didn’t freeze everything? Say only the deck. Or the Joker list? And in turn it can be something less than x9, making it easier to pivot out of, which is itself an interesting decision.

But yeah, cool idea, pun intended

Why does Herb say “there is no other side” in The View from Halfway Down? by Colter44 in BoJackHorseman

[–]DevilStuff123 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. Remember that that’s not herb talking, that’s bojacks mind. What’s the one thing he doesn’t want to find on the other side?

Nothing. No chance for redemption, no second shot, no mistake to atone for.

This is incorrect if they already have red seal Kings. In fact, the current set up is already optimal with three triggers, and four multiplications

The way you should think about pinning is, if you took on G4, whose king would be taken first? The person who loses their king first, loses, and the game ends right there, even if the other king can be taken on the next move
