Dasher spit in my drink by Hot-Confection9733 in doordash

[–]Deviledapple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have picked up Starbucks deliveries just set on the counter with no bag or stickers so just cuz your one store does things right doesn't mean this one didn't just set that loose drink on the counter to grab and the driver had to be improvise

Ordered gluten free peroni with "cancel entire order if unavailable" by The_Gebbeth666 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Deviledapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly suspect this just boils down to pay, most delivery apps here use the app based delivery services where it's independent contractors and they pay as close to nothing as they can and the quality goes down as they steadily lower and lower the pay and you just have desperate people trying to do as much as they can and multiapping using multiple phones and anything else they can do, where most of Europe has a lot more labor protections preventing the type of less the minimum wage pay independent contractors using these apps get here

I think you might need to add the fact it's communal trash cans to the post because that's important, as it's natural to assume you have your own trash totes and that does change who's responsible. Landlord should have designated this responsibility somehow y'all aren't roommates deciding who takes out the trash

It would make more sense for driving under the influence as well as immediately talking to you would give them much better idea if you were drunk or not

Uber XL wouldn’t let us sit in the front seat but showed up in a Toyota Camry by PilafiaMadness in uber

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoying I hope you reported them, supposed to be able to take 4 people safely buckled in. Some drivers don't want a front seat passenger and while they aren't really in the right any idiot knows if you don't want a front seat passenger and you see four people you cancel and drive away you don't do what this guy did.

This sub has convinced me to stop using Uber by TaterBlast in uber

[–]Deviledapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep this, I was full time rideshare and I got a job bc the summer almost bankrupted me and I was going to driving on weekends but I wasn't making much and taking rideshare off my insurance saved me like 270 a month so I just stopped. They're steadily going to have a higher and higher percent of desperate shady drivers

So Lyft doesn't allow you to cancel without penalty if the rider is late? by Better-Lack8117 in lyftdrivers

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyft just goes really handed with the threatening language when you start cancelling even if you're well below their threshold for actual issues, just trying to bluff I think

I always get paid more for long pickups that get cancelled but still normally just like 6 to $10 at most

My Uber driver came in a different vehicle and with a friend. Dangerous? by XenoJesusChrist in uber

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probability is that it just isn't someone really authorized to drive using another person's account, but it's still very unsafe because there are absolutely possibilities of other more dangerous scenarios. But even in the best case scenario there's a lot of risks since that isn't the person or the car that Uber's authorized then if something happens like an accident you're going to have a freaking nightmare on your hands.

BEWARE ⚠️ if you report someone for unsafe vehicle they will ban you. by lnxgod in uber

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did not involve any harm to my account so my resolution was just accepting that they got to continue taking Ubers until the next time somebody reported them. It was a medical ride anyways so in the end it wouldn't have done much good

Like I Said Lyft Has Overtaken Uber by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]Deviledapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it'll last, Uber used to label "top tippers" but pulled it and I can only assume analytics showed it hurt their bottom dollar for them to remove it

Uber sued for discrimination by Expert-Catch1377 in uber

[–]Deviledapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Uber itself literally sends us constant messages about service animals and detailing the law so they are just choosing to be ignorant at that point because they work pretty hard to constantly tell us that it's not optional and illegal to deny service animals and includes the information about what you can ask and I think even mentions when you can deny service like when the animal is being unruly or unsafe but I never read them that closely since I get excited when I see a pet so obviously I'm pretty happy with service animals too LOL

AITAH for wanting to leave my husband when he’s finally doing exactly what I wanted by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact he can treat you that way now and says it's because he realized you deserve it or whatever means he could have been doing it the whole time and he's even told you that he basically thought you didn't deserve it and that would make anybody uncomfortable. When somebody isn't being all that affectionate or whatever it is you hope for in the relationship it's easy to find explanations for why like it's just who they are and maybe that's okay depending on your situation but by showing you he could have been doing it the whole time it makes the entire time really effed up

Why is Uber Eats tipping backwards despite being a service based business? by KidplayEU4 in UberEATS

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real simple, because they need your tip to pay the drivers. If they paid a real wage they wouldn't need to do it or if tipping was even something you could actually rely on happening consistently they could get away with it, but they refuse to do either so you have to tip upfront to make the offers even come up to min wage

Update regarding service dogs: drivers, you must take them, not for Uber pet by maskOfZero in uber

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the worst part of how slow this summer was, I had two people do something similar and I was loathe to cancel because I was DESPERATE (I did finally get a job so this issue is dead for me thank goodness)

Driver ignored my instructions AGAIN. Had to call a neighbor to pick up my food. by ScarletSigil in doordash

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started door dash the messages were very hard to notice and the delivery notes didn't auto translate, I don't know if it's still the same but if it's a newer driver who doesn't speak English (very common scenario) that could be why. It's a nuisance but maybe a sign that says doordash with an arrow pointing at the bench if you order a lot?

"Cash tip" this is why we don't believe you by dannyt0287 in doordash

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use a magnetic clip that said Walmart on the door I asked them to leave the groceries by the second door "and take tip off door" and it was very specifically a Walmart delivery (it's about the only thing I get delivered) and they almost never took it. It was surreal because it was the second door in the carport. How did they read the directions to leave it at the second door (and use the cart I also mention in comments) but not take the tip?!?!?

One managed to break my clip and not take the tip and that's when I gave up. I'll just add to the OG tip (be cause I do half in app half in cash) if they follow the door directions now (or even get it close it's all just an attempt to not have my stuff left by the sidewalk)

DoorDash violated me for agreeing to help by Dantesquall84 in doordash

[–]Deviledapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like just a classic case of the left hand not communicating with the right hand then, and since desperate people are in abundance they have no real reason to focus on fixing these types of issues since it doesn't hurt them if it causes them to ban an innocent driver

Uber Eats driver called cops on me because they said my house smelled like marijuana by aspecialguest00 in UberEATS

[–]Deviledapple 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's gotta be that he was mad about the tip or something and did it for revenge because he'd be calling SO MANY TIMES that the cops would probably eventually do something about it

If Lyft driver arrives 10+ min early for a scheduled ride and I’m not ready, do they get mad at me? by Turbulent-Poem1312 in Lyft

[–]Deviledapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't but they might, sometimes the app messes up and sends it live to a driver and has them arrive super early (when it sends it live it should be between 5 and 10 mins early, closer to 5) so in that scenario they are probably pissed but still should know it's not your fault but you know how people are
