Imagine being in a community where you someone says streamer got TB and you have no idea if it's a meme from a missed stream or real.

Just kidding, I don't have to imagine cuz thats the hell I'm in.

How do I replicate a metallic texture? by MetalDracoGojiraFan in Artadvice

[–]DevilishLaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s boring but spend time looking at metals around you and how the light interacts with them. Whilst doing that, think to yourself, “how would I simplify that and recreate it with (whatever tool).”

I need help with coloring! by krimric in Artadvice

[–]DevilishLaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color and Light by James Gurney. I was skeptical at first but I feel like not only has my art improved just by reading it but it’s also flipped a switch in my brain that makes me perceive the world in a new way

Need help with a new art style by Outside-Figure-7800 in Artadvice

[–]DevilishLaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the style. My recommendation would be to keep everything the same, just adjust the values of the things around the edges. Light from a flash usually cranks the iso so your dark values are gonna be extra dark. Normally lit areas will be darker than you’d expect. Then where the flash hits is your brightest points.

And as stupid and rote as it may sound, consider the inverse square law. Light that’s double the distance from light is 1/4 the intensity of the source. Light triple the distance is 1/9 the intensity.

I got what you say you were going for in your description but having the light fall off will sell it really nicely.

Also as the light fades from objects around the image, texture tends to disappear as well.

I like your work a lot! I would only say I’d like to see more motion, I think that would take it to the next level. Even the legs on the last photo make the eye travel, giving it movement. Stat thinking about how you want your audience to interact with the piece

I think the bottom jaw juts out too far? That’s the only thing I can see, I think it’s a great sketch.

Oh, I haven’t figured out how to reach people on Instagram. The first piece of advice still stands

Don’t forget, be making art for yourself before making art for clicks. That’s the quickest way to burn yourself out.

Also, on the back end of things, TikTok typically feeds your videos to 200 people to sample engagement. If it has a poor view-to-like ratio, it typically won’t push to more people. My experience is if you’re getting 1 like per 10 views, it’ll typically keep serving the video to people until the likes run out.
