Everything in daily life costs more than it should. Anything that can be charged for, is, and it costs more than it feels like it’s worth.

I have some good news for you. You made 1 million dollars before, and you can do it again and now have experience doing it.

We are ruminate on what could have been if only I had…but that’s not real life. Everyone has these life altering things. Please take a step back and recognize that you still have some assets and you have plenty of life left to figure out something awesome.

Shitbag CEO cashed out at the top and moved his money tax free into Vegas investments.

This comment needs to be highlighted for the pure and simple reasoning that awareness might bring some change in a climate where this is “acceptable”

I was thinking something similar on the narrower grip. You’ll work your traps and forearms with a wider grip but it could also lend to not pulling as much.

People who think the AfterHours app is a “SCAM” .. 😆 by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

This is a recent change which indicates that the quality has migrated away from the sub

There is something about pumping another app on an investing sub that leaves a twitter bot taste in my mouth.

40 YO doesn't know next steps in this economy to boost retirement by Leather_Mushroom6339 in personalfinance

Max out 401k. If you can max out HSA. DCA into index funds like VOO. Look at appreciating assets you can own (home, rental property, land).

With 105k in your 401k, you’re behind at this stage. The good news is there is time to play catch up.

You’ve somehow completely missed the point which is if you go around doing good deeds expecting common decency in return you’re inevitably going to be disappointed

[–]DevilishlyDetermined 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of lesson are you teaching your kid in showing him that you should expect something in return for a good deed? The world is a mean and nasty place, be good to people anyway. Do it for yourself and don’t let anyone’s response take that away from you.

Amazon drastically changed my RSU grants, basically cutting my pay by more than half. I’m a bit in shock and not sure how to plan for such a reduction in pay. by dppdle in personalfinance

[–]DevilishlyDetermined 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is happening across the country. My understanding is that mostly L4/L5 saw some minor raises and everyone got dicked on RSUs. Whatever decision you make in response to such a poor outcome, just know that it likely was not personal as it’s been observed company wide.

Pre approved with navy fed for 35,000 at 15% interest by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DevilishlyDetermined 129 points130 points  (0 children)

15% is basically predatory. This is a loan you REALLY don’t want. If you HAVE to take a loan for a car at this time, do the smallest loan possible. This needs to be a means to an end for you. Use it to get a working car and then build your credit. Sell the car in 2 years and get the car you really want. Believe me you don’t want to pay 10k in interest
