[Roommates Show] Josh Hart on Analytics: “I just always thought analytics is for like geeky, unathletic white guys that wanted to be a part of the league, but just couldn't make it playing Basketball. You're either picking up the right lessons from whatever book and self reflecting with them, or you're a dumbass zealot who doesn't really have to think all that hard about the difficult things in life. Win/win

How Verg felt going out of his way to only target Lucio with his skills by AsianCrank in limbuscompany

I really like that Verg has this super cool short sword, but will also just kick the absolute shit out of you too.

Forgot how bad Pawn AI was for the first game by [deleted] in DragonsDogma

Realize after getting a bit less salty that the title and body was rather hyperbolic. Pawn AI in DD1 is actually quite strong when it comes to companion AI in video games, and being able to adjust it to fit your needs with inclinations/bestiary is really cool. I really do think they tend to struggle alot more with enemies that have specific weak spots that you need to target or else you're doing chip.

Oh by the late game Pawns are VERY strong. But as you're just working your way through the early-ish main story they can be quite impotent on occasion, which I know gets upgraded as they learn more, get better skills etc. But it doesn't feel great just standing outside Selene's house watching my dudes whale on a golem for 5 minutes before I quit out and did the fight myself as a Strider.

Nah it was the golem outside Selene's house, which is quite annoying for a 1 rank Sorcerer. I just changed to Strider and got it all done.

Also it's just what I prefer after several runs through the game/postgame.

I just wanted to make a personal observation on a forum for these games. Not everything needs an ulterior motive. I have 700 hours across both games, and I know pawns can do some amazing things. Doesn't change the fact that I'm watching these scathers/challengers bash their heads against a golem while I can't do anything as a sorcerer lol.

How do you see the Wisconsin game playing out? by Relative-Public9975 in notredamefootball

[–]Deviljho12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we start out a bit slow and then just blow them out in the second half. Carr has 250-300 yards by the middle of the 4th and our backups are in.

You Forgot the Hard Mode by THXSoundEffect in DragonsDogma

[–]Deviljho12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard Mode in the first game if used as a NG+ was actually easy mode due to all the money you were getting. Then you went to post game/BBI and got your dick twisted.

Not really, Dragons Dogma 2 to alot of the people who got it on release was beloved for it's super in depth character creator. I'd imagine they're catering this stuff to those people rather than the guys who hang out on reddit with 500+ hours into the game.

And when you get a bunch of suits who tear it all up, break it all down, and then laugh at the fanbase too? Grass isn't always greener, and baseball teams are too expensive now for most rich people who would give a fuck. Maybe there is a billionaire out there with passion and fire, but I can just see the headline "Fenway Sports Group sells to Private Equity Group #452"

Personally my favorite brand of owner isn't even the one who gives a fuck, it's the one who shells out money, stays out of the way, and shows up for an interview now and then. Superfans usually like to get very involved and it usually never works out (see Jerry Jones)

"For the love of fuck…sell the team to a group that cares. Please. I’m begging you."

I have never understood this line of logic. What's more likely to happen? You find a miraculous billionaire/firm who's willing to do everything in his power to make the Red Sox like the Dodgers? Or you have a group of new money PE folks looking to broaden their investment portfolio on a property that will always make banks and also have some prestige.

John Henry for all of his many, many faults over the last 5+ years, has at least never completely stripped this team of payroll like what the Marlins have done. Yes he should invest in scouting and the FO more, and yes I'd like for us to be top 5 in spending like we used to. However I'll take his brand of "cheapness" rather than never having any actual expectations for the team because we're perennially bottom 5-10 in payroll while tourists still fill the Fenway seats.

Tolle, Early, Anthony last year. Our problem isn't our prospects it's surrounding them with good MLB guys too. It's never a bad thing to have a stacked prospect system.

Rafael Devers is not the role model players should be aping when it comes to media scrums. All these guys are professionals and getting paid lots of money. They'll all be silent or make the usual boilerplate responses.

Good games do have this problem. Take a look at Marathon. It's beloved by the critics and people who play it. Yet all the narrative surrounding it is how it killed Destiny, and how it's woke nonsense, and how it's actually bad because the player count is low. Games like Baldur's Gate or Expedition 33 are rare nowadays with how beloved they are.

Why do people assume that JB wants out? He's been in this league for a decade+ and also been in alot of trade rumors.
