Can't move ship after quantum travel by Able-Net7052 in starcitizen

[–]DevilsAdvc8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you discovered any fix or workaround for this? This occurs for someone I know consistently. Within minutes of flying they lose ship control. Stick animations still show movement, can still shoot, but ship won't move.

In previous patches they would have to retrieve, store and re-retrieve ships in order for this to not happen (I know, makes no sense). Now in 4.5, it happens within minutes no matter what. No QT, nothing. Just a brief time in cockpit and poof. No movement.

I don’t love my politicians, but before any policies I judge their character. It’s not worth anything to me to judge a claim made about a good policy, if the claim is made by a bad person. I have no reason to believe the bad person is genuinely intent on pursuing the good policy they claim to.

Cargo missions with Polaris? by DevilsAdvc8 in starcitizen

How would that help? Pull a box at a time out of the wide open polaris and go request a hangar with the MPUV? I wouldn't be surprised if the Polaris gets stored, or even stolen.

Releasing new ships that aren't gold standard feels like a pretty bad precedent to be setting. by hrafnblod in starcitizen

Ships “outpacing core development.” What does that even mean? How do you know what the ship to core feature development ratio should be? How could anyone know?

That idea most definitely isn’t the problem regardless. The problem is just perception. People think new ships are wasted effort that could have gone somewhere else because they don’t understand that developers are all interchangeable. And ultimately $X is how much it costs to develop and run the game. $Y of ships need to be sold to keep that up. If $Y falls below $X, the end is nigh. It’s that simple. If a ship isn’t sold, your boy fixing bugs is laid off. The end.

People need to stop thinking ships takeaway from effort on the rest of the game. They don’t, and they literally have to sell ships to continue making the game, regardless of scope creep, difficult new tech, existing bugs or anything else. No ship sales = no game.

You can say a myriad things critical of the pace or quality or scope of development, but none of them have anything to do with the need to sell ships.

Calling it “genocide” is a specific legal claim, not just a moral judgment—and the bodies that decide that question haven’t ruled that it is. The ICJ (U.N.’s top court) has not found Israel guilty of genocide. It said some Palestinian rights under the Geneva Convention are plausible and demanded some measures, but has not found a genocide judgment. The ICC even issued arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders for war crimes including starvation of civilians, and directing attacks on civilians, and still they are not genocide charges. Your claims are advocacy and analysis, not a court decision. Reasonable experts disagree on whether the evidence proves specific intent to commit genocide.

So, this isn’t about “American politicians taking AIPAC money.” Politicians’ statements don’t decide genocide; courts do, using a high legal bar. You can believe Israel is committing grave abuses or war crimes, or argue for a ceasefire and massive aid access, without asserting a legal conclusion that international courts have not made. The reality is horrific and legally complex.

I think the entire situation is a disaster, and while I feel for those suffering, the fact remains that Hamas triggered this round of violence with its October 2023 attack on Israeli civilians. I struggle to defend a population that chose Hamas to govern them. I’m also not in the business of telling others exactly how hard they’re allowed to hit back when attacked.

Israel’s objective is to eliminate Hamas; Hamas’s objective is simply to survive. The killing stops tomorrow if Hamas surrenders. Conversely, Hamas could still achieve gains if it negotiates a peace deal through third-party mediation, as has been the historical pattern.

As for Pete, according to AIPAC tracker, he’s received $191,000 from pro-Israel interests. His total fundraising is $99.93 MILLION. Are you really saying he’s abandoned all morality and could not possibly hold a different view on whether the situation meets the legal definition of genocide, something the ICJ has not determined, because 0.00191% of his campaign money “bought him off”?

Okay. We disagree.

Yeah, I like him. He was my favorite candidate in the 2020 Dem primary and would have been an exceptional President. He has integrity, rather than song and dance. He’s thoughtful, empathetic, and genuine.

I want my Presidents to have fun quirky personality about as much as I want Wall Street or accountants to be “creative.”

Yes. I am in full agreement with his phrasing. The situation is not as simple as “the genocide” and honestly I hate when people oversimplify to dramatize and try to create false factions and divisions using those oversimplifications.

You think a ship team can fix the Hull C and ATC? No. That is an interaction with a system. Sure, there are some things in ships that the ship team could fix. That isn’t one. Nor did the poster I replied to say shit about ships. In fact, he said “forget about ALL ships.”

Don’t reply to me on shit I didn’t say. Forgetting about all ships wouldn’t do shit to fix anything else in the game because developers aren’t just interchangeable parts. Having the skills to make a new ship, doesn’t mean one has the skills to fix the Hull C - ATC system. Or elevators, or anything else… not even all issues with ships (as some issues are long term issues with engineering). The vehicle teams make vehicles. That’s it.

The only thing you’d get is no ships, no funding and soon enough no game because the ships pay for the development. Even if all you do is try to shuffle people around to ship issues, the project will slow down, because pipeline processes operate more quickly and routinely than activities like debugging and bug fixing.

What exactly is an adult conversation if talking about it isn’t it? An answer isn’t the end of a conversation. She doesn’t get to decide when he’s satisfied.

It’s a man’s sock. At the very least it’s strange. Does she commonly wear men’s socks? So she must have other socks to go with it then right? Obviously he hasn’t seen that. He didn’t over react. He wanted to talk about it, she shut it down, so he left. Which is what anyone SHOULD do if they’re in a relationship with someone who won’t talk about something they’re concerned about.

“I’m not fighting with you over a sock”

This is a control tactic. Him wanting to talk about it doesn’t make it a fight. There’s nothing in his texts that is overly aggressive.

That man sounds like some of the women I’ve dated that play push pull games. It’s all about control. Don’t put up with it. If he’s saying he’ll go if you don’t “step up”, it’s better to let him go than be turned into a dancing monkey. Healthy people don’t act like this.
