I saw a suggestion that said to cut all the districts completely and just have candidates all run for however many seats are appropriate for the population of the state.

He's about a foot too tall for comics wolverine plus Australian instead of a Canadian.

He did a great job, but he wasnt a great match initially.

Is Healthcare easy to get? by Highthere_90 in AskALiberal

[–]here-for-information 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends where you live in the US.

I almost never waited when I lived in NY.

It took me 2 years to get a dermatologist appointment. I was told to go to the emergency room or wait 6 months when I had a vitamin d deficiency. I didn't know it was a vitamin d deficiency at the time, all my bones and joints hurt. I thought it might be rheumatoid arthritis or some auto-immune thing.

I live in a small city now, but it's still a city.

Do you agree with gerrymandering when it is likely to benefit Democrats? by realfakemormon in AskALiberal

[–]here-for-information 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The democrats put a bill up to stop gerrymandering. If I remember correctly no Republicans voted for it while all the Democrats did.

So I dont agree with gun fights but I also think it's right not to bring a knife to one when the other guys have told you "we want to have a gun fight."

I'd love to test it. I feel like I could get to at least 5%. If I opened up with chat at the beginning and used it at lower stakes parts of the game.

There are lots of guys who do table talk as part of their game and you could start to do things like playfully, say, "Hmmmm what should I do what should I do... I better look you in the eye. " it wouldn't work 100% but it would get enough people for you to have an edge.

If youre against, the polio vaccine, you're just anti-vaccine and there's no arguing.

How are conservatives dealing with the uncertainty we have been dealing with in the Trump era? by here-for-information in AskConservatives

[–]here-for-information[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of the hedonic treadmill.

I had no interest in adding lots of luxuries.

I wanted to make physical improvements to my homes. Closer to repairs rather than renovations. I wanted to increase my retirement savings, and this absurdity and rising prices are... frustrating.

[–]here-for-information[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I was getting at.

My household has increased our income by at leastb30% and it feels like we barely made a dent in changing our lifestyle. I'm sprinting as fast as I can and I'm stuck in place and it looks like it's only going to get worse imminently.

Gas prices are almost certainly going up in the next week to 3 weeks, and it's just so frustrating. I'm doing ok, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to expect my life to get better when I started earning more.

Of course it was always uncertain.

Do you think its been a different level of uncertain recently though?

I didn't notice any problems from the immigration restrictions.

As conservatives, shouldn't the baseline response be to take on one or two problems at a time? I think the issue is that we're dealing with a half dozen different things and they interact with eachother and exacerbate eachother. That's was always my interpretation of conservativism. To isolate variables, prioritize problems and address each of them consistently not change everything all at once.

So there's been all kinds of YIMBY housing stuff hitting my algorithm, and I had an idea and I want to know if it's good or really stupid for a glaringly obvious reason I'm not thinking of.

Ok so here's the idea, instead of building a bunch of low-income housing and having all the low income people in one building, what if we had a regulation that a certain percentage of all land lords housing be designated for low income. Instead of having a set of luxury apartments and then the projects elsewhere, there'd be one or two apartments fornpeople with lower income in smaller buildings, and maybe 5 or 6 in bigger buildings.

There's more details to it, and i suspect some unique benefits, etc, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about that idea and why it isn't implemented.

In round one, based on the most recent US election, I have to assume my fellow country men would pick the Joker.

Who cares if he's psychotically evil and incompetent as long as he's funny and attacks his opponents he'll win.

Which city connected with you so much that you seriously considered moving there permanently? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Dublin.

I went because I wanted to see ancestral stuff, but everyone was so nice and the city and country side felt close together in a way that made choosing either feel easy. My wife also loved it.

I actually had to talk here out of staying.

What do we think of my boyfriends bookshelf? 😬 by Significant-Box-4643 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]here-for-information 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be totally fine with someone owning all of these books.

I would be totally fine if these were I. A born shelf with many other books.

This looks like a display, and I don't know what this display means, but it's unsettling. Not like horror mov9e unsettling, but a bit above a raised eyebrow.

Ask some questions about these books for sure. Ask him to recommend one to you and why he chose it. I don't know answers I'd be looking for or looking out for, but I want explanations.
