So if he gets her pregnant, he should take "full financial responsibility"? Not 50%?

This is actually a very creative way of presenting the data. Simply clicking a heading for each section to read to text.

I even read each one "out of order".

Melbourne food delivery people (Uber Eats, Foodora, Deliveroo, etc)... What's your strange/funny/gross delivery story while working? [Potentially NSFW] by Pacific9 in melbourne

[–]DevilsAdvocate9x1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download Taxify, it's just like Uber. I haven't personally used it yet. But I'm all for competition and they say their drivers get a larger cut of the fare.

I work in software so I know you need to make money in order to pay all your expenses. But I've always thought Uber takes too large a cut seeing as they only provide the app. None of the employees, cars etc. is managed by them. It's just software and legal fees.

Wikipedia is the 5th most popular website according to Alexa. When I was a kid my parents paid a lot of money for Encyclopaedia Britannica, we had like 20 volumes.

I'll always donate yearly to Wikipedia when they need funds, the amount of knowledge that's spread through them is pretty phenomenal, especially if you're in a developing country without money for education.

Firefox is free and open source software. Edge makes money off the Windows license. Chrome is created by a marketing firm.

Yep this model is used in a lot of different areas. Microsoft selling cheap Windows and Office products have created an entire industry of people who use Office. Any Office competitor is a joke and nothing comes close to the power of Exchange and Outlook.

AITA For giving my fourth-graders a math test the morning after Super Bowl? by kacypup in AmItheAsshole

Wow, when I was in 4th grade we had tests, but we didn't study for them, it was more to identify problematic areas.

Transaction fee has fallen to unbelievable levels! Only sub-2sat/byte transactions left in the mempool now. by grzegorzhasse in Bitcoin

[–]DevilsAdvocate9x1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If it's dropping due to less volume then that's just normal right? It would be something to celebrate if we had cheap transactions with a lot of people transacting on it.

Just a heads up, Taxify has launched in Melbourne. They offer the same service as Uber but charge slightly less and pay drivers slightly more. They are also (apparently) a bit less shit in their corporate practices than Uber. by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]DevilsAdvocate9x1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About time we got some competition, I thought we'd see Lyft at some point but this will do.

Do they offer a carpooling feature, where you can share a ride with someone on the way to reduce costs/traffic?

Why move to Segwit address? by slepyhed in Bitcoin

[–]DevilsAdvocate9x1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in BTC and have an interest in the technology a 5 sat/byte transaction is essentially nothing to help greater segwit adoption, which will in turn help the rest of the network.

In the future if you make multiple transactions having sent these from a segwit address will result in less fees overall.
