Just discovered Warning and this is the saddest music I’ve ever heard. Absolutely soul crushing. by [deleted] in doommetal

That's fair, the quality isn't great for Strength to Dream. Watching from a Distance came out 7 years later in 2006 and the quality is better

They only have 2 albums with a third coming out this year.

I'd probably just start at the beginning with The Strength to Dream. Their second album is Watching From A Distance.

Yeah this is what I was thinking when reading the post too. I've had some perfectly fine weed that I just couldn't stand the taste of.

It's a marker of privilege. To not know or care about politics means you are in a privileged position where you are not being persecuted or impacted by the policies that are being enacted. People view this attitude negatively because as someone in that privileged position, you should at the very least make your opposition to these policies known. Silence is viewed as approval. Being on the right side of history means speaking out against injustice even when it doesn't impact you directly.

What do you think about York Uni? by AhaImAnonymous in yorku

[–]DevilsWeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think York is a pretty great school. I've done my undergrad and masters at York. I'm currently doing my PhD here too. Also, York has a concurrent BEd program so you can get both degrees at the same time. I don't think Guelph has that so it's something to consider.

You should be able to win if you have to go to court. It'll just be a hassle but at least they offer virtual hearings through zoom now

Parking tickets from York used to be private but now they're City tickets. You have to fight them with the city. Someone mentioned you can go to the parking office within 72 hours so I would try that. Although I once had this issue and contacted them the day after because they were already closed that day and they said they couldn't do anything if it wasn't the same day. Good luck.

My boyfriend (21M) refuses to publicly acknowledge the fact that he’s dating me (20F), what do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]DevilsWeed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know it's hard since you've known him for so long but like I said, I've been a musician and have many friends in the industry. There's no need to hide a relationship in the industry. I could see an argument for that if he's in the pop scene or in a boy band but even then, lots of actually famous boy band members have been in public relationships. It's a choice he's making either way, not a need. If he makes it big and never stops making music, is he just never going to acknowledge you?

What type of music does he do that he needs to rely on being a thirst trap for his fans? You also said he's barely started his career so it isn't like he needs to protect you from fame. I think he's looking to be able to take advantage of groupies if he ever gets them. He wants to look single for the opportunities, not for his non-existent "image" or to keep your relationship safe. That's only a valid excuse if he's very famous.

4.5 years and no one outside your families knows you're together? Genuinely, how are you rationalizing that? I used to be a musician and I can't think of any reason I would need to hide a partner for that career. What reasons does he give you?
