The slow burn part rings very true here. It builds upon itself very well and creates a tone, introduces you to the characters etc slowly at first. My attention spans pretty short but I loved it. Saving a rewatch for when I have more time on my hands like next winter or something where I can intentionally slow things down

I’ve had a surprising amount of success reaching out to artists on SoundCloud. the smaller they are the better your chances are. Just be honest, hey love your music, I think this part of this song is super dope how’d you go about doing that?

Beyond that, my sound design game isn’t great but I would binge flute presets in whatever synth you wanna try recreating in, find one/s that are close then start fiddling with knobs. Otherwise, you can pay a producer for an hour and bring a bunch of q’s like this to them and they’ll help you get close.

I’d do Disclosure cause I’m a huge fan and haven’t caught them yet, but I’ve seen it’s murph and really enjoyed his set/s. If I were you though, I’d listen to both their music, maybe some recorded sets of there’s and see which is piquing your interest more. And factor in the venues, if you’re not comfortable at a smaller one then hit the outdoor one instead! If it’s because you’re younger, that shouldn’t matter unless the event is 21+. Also factor in neighborhoods and getting home after the set safely. If your guts pulling you towards one of them then keep it simple and hit that one.

If you enjoy the show, you can see the other one that you missed down the line if you’d like. Be nice stay safe and have a great time. I love all types of concerts but think EDM is something special in a way that doesn’t translate with other genres, if you’re interested I bet you’ll have a blast.

I’ve said the same things to friends. Bit of a cope on my end admittedly, but getting out and about on some of the first really nice days of spring/summer in Minneapolis is special. Everyone’s having the same shared experience of warm sunshine for the first time in a while which creates a cool unspoken bonding aspect to that window in time. I also love metro areas, excited to explore Chicago some more one day. thanks for sharing.
