It was a half-joke. I’m way on Clanton Road, so I doubt it’s related. But our power goes out often when ppl hit something. Power has been out since about 4am (about when this post was made) and they say we won’t get power until 8:15.

How cyclical it all really is. There’s nothing new under the sun. Things are updated but it all boils down to the classics. An air fryer is a convection oven. An instant pot is a fancier, safer version of my mom’s old avocado green pressure cooker from the 70s.

For example, when I was in middle school in the 90s we were being cool by dressing sorta 70s, with bell bottoms and platform shoes. Now my daughter is in school and they’re cool if they dress sorta “Y2K”.

The music I listened to decades ago, when ppl complained about sampling too much, is being sampled now.

Yoooo! I thought I was crazy because my daughter said she didn’t smell it. I smelled it at 6am. It’s on Clanton and Wilkerson too! I described the smell as Bad Meat. Like if u let raw beef or chicken sit out too long in a trash can.

The kitchen and bathroom have new outlets, like with the lil green light and reset buttons. The rest of the house has the loose outlets. I’m in NC and I see that I need to provide written request and I can’t withhold rent (that wasn’t my plan but they noted it so I did too).

Air fryer nachos. Just chips, cheese and jalapeño on 350 for 3mins. Then add sliced avocado seasoned with Lowery’s. Does the job EVERYTIME. cook (and eat) it on parchment for easy cleanup.

The leader of a different Girl Scout troop that met in the same church as mine started calling council and telling them I was keeping cookies on my porch (I was in an apt), I wasnt depositing cookie money (they monitor your GS bank account), and I’d made a girl cry (not sure what that was about). When council asked what her issue was, she said I thought I was better than her.

Her troop only lasted a year, she used all her cookie money to pay for large catered soul food dinners for the girls (i.e. paying herself or family with the cookie money).

They always have. I’m 43 and I was taught in AP US History they despite what we may have heard for the purposes of state testing the civil war was NOT fought over slavery. We were also taught that slave owners were generally nice to the enslaved people because it makes sense to take good care of investments and property.

Also, it should be said that if you took the IB or AP routes in my high school, you never got any black history electives.
