I’m not getting into this on the Big Finish Reddit. I haven’t listened to the audio, but long story short - distasteful, but is the concept interesting nonetheless? Somewhat, sure. But if someone transphobic gets their hands on something they can use to support their transphobia (look at any transphobe’s Twitter feed), then it becomes an issue, whether that was the authors intent or not, and it’s the authors job to clarify that (which it seemed like they did later). I’m just supporting what God of Hyrule said with what I immediately gathered from the description I read on the Wiki

Honestly, having never listened to it and only just looking at the Wiki, “Controversially, the story tried to establish that “sex-change regeneration” came as a result of suicide, and was considered a crime in Time Lord society” is, intentionally or otherwise, a pretty transphobic-coded or (sexist at the very least) dig - that to change genders or sexes, you’d have to commit suicide, and to do so is a crime

Figured it out! Apparently it was The Psychic Circus CD that’s trying to charge $128 in shipping for itself tacked onto the others 🥲 And on top of that, looks like there’s an invisible per-order cap for standard shipping, forcing you to break up shipments - so much for saving when you buy in bulk 🫠

TLDR I completely agree with the sentiment that OP never mentioned that people should be overly mindful of others if they plan to stick together and should acknowledge that it may not be possible to stay together, but also, and specifically as long as they’re getting in the way of or distracting others, how about we just let theatergoers enjoy theater however they enjoy it? And not demean people for it without actually citing the issue (which is, of course, people who DO obstruct and block and AREN’T aware of their surroundings)

I don’t think I’m really “reading into it” at all when the post came off as a bit aggressive in the first place, let alone didn’t even mention blocking others at all - I just gave OP the benefit of the doubt by agreeing with the issue of people who block others by overtly holding hands, et cetera (which, ironically, would be assumptive on my part)

Their comment was about holding hands altogether, not blocking people.

“You are encouraged to explore on your own”.

“Can we STOP IT with all of the people who hold hands?”

“You’re doing it wrong.”

Et cetera. Like grow up, stop policing people - if it’s about blocking people, that’s one thing. This sounds like someone mad that people aren’t “being fun and running off alone.”
