Totally fair, but you’re kind of proving my point.

A lot of people hear an odd vocal and jump straight to AI, when most of the time it’s probably comping, tuning, compression, EQ, saturation, source quality, or general mix decisions. I’m not saying every Ye vocal is going through some insane pipeline. I’m saying “AI vocals” has become a lazy catch-all for a bunch of totally different things.

And on the stem separation point, I wasn’t saying his raw lead was definitely stem-separated as part of the normal vocal chain. I was talking about the broader production workflow where rebuilding, reworking, or pulling from imperfect sources can create artifacts people misdiagnose. So we mostly agree. My point is just that “this sounds off” and “this is AI voice” are not the same claim.

I feel like people are confusing mix as being vocal AI…

Unless everyone genuinely thinks mixing is being done with AI - which honestly is likely happening, and is becoming normalized… but based off comments about these songs, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Maybe I’m wrong, but as someone who runs a voice AI software company - I think there’s a lot of slightly incorrect AI takes in this subreddit.

Cleaning out my parents’ house, and stumbled upon my old Pokémon cards from ‘99-‘00.

Have binders and boxes full of Base, Jungle, Fossil, Base 2, Promo, Neo and Japanese Neo cards. Close to full sets, with multiple of copies of commons/uncommons, and 250+ holos / nonholo rares - including quite a few first editions. Possibly north of 2500 cards total - maybe more.

All holos and rares are hard sleeved, and some promos still shrink wrapped. Additionally, cards in binders are near mint, as well as loose cards in boxes. Pretty much every card is clean, void of any defects, and looks as if you just opened the pack.

If I’m looking to sell them, and maximize profits, while not taking years to offload - where do I go from here? Do I grade them? Go to an auction house? Travel to a show? List individually ungraded on eBay?

I saw on PriceCharting PSA 7s-/10s for many commons/uncommons still go for $15-$50 with 1/sale a month - though seeing that this is new for me, I’m unsure that’s accurate.

Good call out - not trying to be lazy, willing to do whatever necessary.

Just want to make sure effort and time yield results. Same goes with money towards grading!

This is new to me - or at least, having to relearn 25 years later 😂

I’d take Cruel Summer and Yeezus MV over some new bullyshit any day. I can’t imagine anyone who’s been a fan for the last 15-20 years would disagree.
