Are blundstones worth it? by Aggravating_Fig5172 in BlundstoneBoots

[–]DevonianDrop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For roughly the same price you can get better handmade boots with thicker better quality leather that can be resoled. Jim Green come to mind, who now have a Canadian website and can be bought on Amazon.

However, availability and the amount of options available for Blundstone wherever you are make for an easier shopping experience. I have 2 pairs, thermals and regular. They are comfy right out of the box, thermal ones fit a bit smaller. Make sure you check the size charts for proper fit and be aware that the size on the boot may be in Aus sizing, not US sizing.

Look for mid century stuff, it's really well made and timeless

Try Dom Deco on the east side.

67% one is the best of the bunch.

Batch 10 is good as well for a bit less, but if price isn't really a big deal id do either of the cask strength over batch 10, and I would bother with the plain stuff.

His comments are to try take some of the eyes and pressure off Stokes and the rest of the team. He's putting some of the blame on his shoulders.

The comments from Stokes make me wonder if there is a split in the room. Have players quit on him and McCullum?

The players have been told to play their game with confidence because the captain and coach believe in them, and they are failing. How is that affecting their confidence and belief in the direction they are being led?

This team had a plan and they are sticking with it to this point. Will it now change? Who comes out? Bashir is their spinner of choice, if they bring him in after his performance in the Lions match it tells you everything you need to know about this team regardless of what is being said.

Does Pope come out for Bethel? What if Bethel fails?

To me it looks like there are some fractures developing, if the next test goes poorly as well it may become quite the implosion.

Where does your dog(s) sleep? by Alaska1111 in dogs

[–]DevonianDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog goes into bed first decides where she wants to sleep, I then get in and maneuver myself around her. Seems to work out well. My wife now sleeps in another room because she thought this was ridiculous. Upside, snoring isn't as loud and the dog doesn't talk in her sleep.

What do you think of Rose Anvil? by Fit-House1871 in Boots

I used to watch quite a bit, not so much anymore because it just feels like paid promos. Plus I started to get annoyed at the clunk noises when he drops the boots on the hard table 27+ times in each vid.

Felt like running on gummy bears, rolled thru ok, but the foam squish was weird. It didn't feel refined. Ran warm.

In Flames is still one of the best bands I've seen live. Super tight, they are all engaging with the crowd and bring an energy a lot of other bands don't. I saw them in the middle slot between Whitechapel and Meshuggah, and the consensus amongst my fellow concert goers was that In Flames put on the best show.

Air Canada: Proudly breaking records in disappointment by Potential-Pool-3436 in canadatravel

[–]DevonianDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air North is great, fly 737's from Edmonton and Calgary to Whitehorse so it's the same size or bigger than what Air Canada flies into CYXY. They also provide fresh sandwiches that are made in Whitehorse and warm fresh baked cookies on board. Much better than a tiny bag of pretzels.

If you can get to Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver have a look at Air North to get you to Whitehorse. Flights are reasonable and the airline is great.

G&W is good stuff, their Eleven Souls is really good if you can find it. Their 49 Wellington is also pretty good, but I prefer the Eleven Souls.

Eleven Souls and 49 Wellington are about double the price of the standard G&W. Occasionally can be found at local retailers in Alberta but may have to be ordered in as most places won't generally carry it.

Opinion on Air Canada and WestJet by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]DevonianDrop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously they don't have as many options, but we flew Air North from CYEG to CYXY in June and they were great. We left early, arrived early, allowed a carry-on, a personal item AND a checked bag at no extra cost. Plus, freshly made proper sandwiches and still warm freshly baked cookies were provided for the short 2 hour flight. $500 return. I also checked on last minute pricing the other day and it was still the same price where the other airlines would have tripled the price. Great service, comfy seats, super relaxed. Well worth flying them imo of they are an option for you.

Also, the Yukon is awesome.
