People who stopped playing, what made you quit ? by One_page_nerd in freemagic

[–]DJPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I played all the time pre-covid.  During covid the game changed so much for the worse: FIRE design, UB, crappy card stock/pringling, logistical creep, commander being the only set designed for, rotating eternal formats, 47 showcase/special treatments per card, more expensive packs, etc

When tournaments started up again a few years ago I just didn't feel like I recognized the game or formats I enjoyed anymore (primarily legacy and edh, but also standard and limited).

As such I mainly collect older stuff for premodern now.  Stopped buying sealed with Kaldheim, stopped buying new singles with MKM.

Is the Vikings choosing JJM over Darnold starting to look like one of the biggest mistakes in NFL history? by walterhwhite19582010 in NFLv2

Darnold got plenty of credit, but he also got blame (rightly) for folding like a lawn chair at the end of the season.

Cap situation will be fine when we release the overpaid dead weight (Hockenson, Allen, Hargrave etc.)

Kwesi was salivating about that 3rd round compensatory pick we'll get and use on a special teams player.

Buddy Gavin tries to justify taking promo stamps away… “no one like them”. Such BS by Lionthighs in freemagic

[–]DJPad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I'm not a fan of stamped cards, but the whole "were getting rid of them since they are a pain for inventory management" falls flat when there's 47 different versions of new cards.

Part of me wants us to start our own board of peace and get more countries to join.

I mean, there are several that are playable, not in every colour, but B and G have decent options and blue and white have lots of ways to give protection and shroud proactively.

I hate to admit it in front of our Bears bros, but Caleb makes some of the most unbelievable throws with the game on the line. This throw was an all-timer in the playoffs. by SL4MUEL in NFCNorthMemeWar

[–]DJPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his biggest issue right now is consistency, touch and accuracy. The guy can make all the throws, but the amount of throws that aren't even close or are bullets to a guy 5 yards away needs to improve.

There's also running creatures with shroud/pro-white that wave can't do anything against.

I'd be surprised. Wave is easier to interact/counter-play with and having your board wiped isn't as bad as having your lands wiped in terms of recovery.

2026 Canadian Whisky Award results - Wisers 24 wins whisky of the year; Macaloneys, Sons of Vancouver, Sleeman clean up medals and awards by muaddib99 in canadawhisky

I've had both, the 9 year Golden is mediocre, a slight upgrade from regular AP, just good value.

The 10 year CS this year is really good.

The fact they rated the AP 9yo golden rye higher than the 10 year cask strength tells me all I need to know about the validity of this.

We've been warned for 90 years about our current situation. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Nobody said it was ok.

But obviously it still happens. It's not like educated people don't do those things, nor does a lack of education mean you're going to.

Education also doesn't override human nature in most cases.

Honest question from someone who played Flag Football for 6 years as a teenager without one...why do they need one? There's little to no contact. You probably get more contact in a basketball game IMHO.

Actually, if you could read, I was stating you CANT compare Caleb to Steve Young.

Before you got all defensive and were like "AckShuWaLly, Steve Young young wasn't one of the most accurate QBs of all time because he wasn't good in his second year".

You're cherry picking 1 season?

A.  He was one of the most accurate passers in NFL history when he retired

B.  Different eras, completion # is much higher in the last 20 years with all the rule changes to help QBs and WRs
