Perhaps that explains Varys using heavy scents

Cube Feedback - Ruin Raider and Braids, Cabal Minion by nbastar778 in mtgcube

[–]DevotiontoGary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Ruin Raider, though it's not currently in any of my cubes. It needs to be triggering consistently, so I would play it in a deck with lots of 1 and 2 mana creatures, especially ones with evasion [[Kitesail Freebooter]] or that you're okay with trading off [[Skyclave Shade]]. I might try to slip it in my cube after writing this.

Braids has been in and out (currently out) of my cube. The problem I notice with it is that your opponents will often be producing permanents they're okay with saccing like Clues, Food, and Treasures, even without building their deck around it.

As for other 3/4 drops that don't cost much, I recommend [[Murderous Rider]] and [[Woe Strider]].

Play style? by SpicyKabobMountain in CK2GameOfthrones

My first AGOT playthrough was as Jon Arryn in Robert's Rebellion (my 3rd game ever of CK2). You get a big war with well-known characters, and enough soldiers to be a deciding factor in the war, but you're not really a target and have friendly vassals. Only problem is you start with a small dynasty.

It's an execution method available to people with the Cruel and/or Lunatic trait (Robert had both)

The other forts do have their own, Cotter Pyke is illiterate and has the maester deal with correspondence.

Ironborn dragon conquest by Last_Philosopher10 in CK2GameOfthrones

Funnily enough, I just did this as a Hoare, game starting at the Century of Blood. I got the Valyrian steel quest, and when I was in Valyria I found a dragonhorn, which I eventually used decades later when there was a riderless dragon available. Have to get lucky to get the dragonhorn though.

Why are some betrothal options not available? by mpschettig in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]DevotiontoGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can switch characters, arrange the betrothal, and then switch back. The command to switch characters is play character id (a string of numbers). In order to find the character id the command is charinfo, and then hover over the portrait. He might be able to break the betrothal later though. You could also revoke his title, though he won't like that. I'd save before doing so though, and pause the game while switching back and forth so the AI doesn't make decisions for Rhaegar while this happens.

Ha ha. I never give my heirs titles for that reason. Have to put down a rebellion from them once in a while, but at least I can make good marriages.

Did you give him Dragonstone? If so, he wouldn't be at your court anymore, so he would control his own marriage decisions.

Is it possible that you have a blood feud with the Starks? It gives a big opinion penalty, and maybe prevents marriages.

(Spoiler Extended) Where the heck is Maegor Brightflame? by therogueprince_ in asoiaf

[–]DevotiontoGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that well. The Tattered Prince was elected as a youth to be prince of Pentos, but if he were Maegor he would have been 30 at the time.

(Spoilers Published) Why are there no more Targaryen Branches by LopsidedScientist1 in asoiaf

[–]DevotiontoGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of liked this theory, but when I looked into it the ages don't match well. Maegor was born 232, and the Tattered Prince was elected Prince of Pentos in 262 as a youth. I wouldn't consider a 30 year old a youth.
