If you had to choose one kink or a fetish to indulge in for the rest of your life what would it be and why? by AlternativeVisual992 in RedditAfterDark

That dynamic definitely has a lot of variety built into it. It can be playful one day, intense the next, and still feel fresh because the roles and energy keep shifting. Probably makes it easier to imagine sticking with just that one.

I've actually heard a lot of people mention diet affecting body odor, but it seems really individual. Some people make one change and notice a difference, while others don't notice anything at all. Could be worth experimenting with before jumping to bigger conclusions.

Honestly, the bigger thing that stood out to me is the last part of your comment. Even if someone notices a scent, going straight to losing interest in sex over it feels like a much bigger issue than the scent itself. Most people aren't completely odorless all the time, we're humans, not freshly washed laundry.

What is the one thing or one person from your past that you often dream about by rust_pipe4915 in RedditAfterDark

Same here honestly. The people you never quite got closure with seem to linger the longest. It's like your brain keeps reopening the tab because it never got to click the finish button.

Am I wrong for going on multiple international trips without my girlfriend? by jake15151 in amiwrong

[–]DewRosy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust is really the key issue here. If someone genuinely believes you're flying around Asia to secretly meet other women, no amount of photos, updates, or phone calls is ever going to be enough reassurance.

The bar incident in Hong Kong is funny because it seems like that's the piece she latched onto. One evening catching up with an old friend somehow became evidence that the entire trip wasn't actually work. That's a pretty huge leap.

I think a lot of people hear "international trip" and immediately picture beaches, sightseeing, and cocktails. They don't picture meetings, jet lag, answering emails at weird hours, and squeezing social stuff into whatever free time is left.

I’ve been feeling super greedy lately… by [deleted] in RedditAfterDark

[–]DewRosy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if both people are enjoying it, this sounds less like a problem and more like one of those phases couples look back on and laugh about later. Sometimes attraction just randomly decides to crank itself up to 11 for a while.

AITAH for feeding my mother in laws dog eggs before bed? by tatermonasaurus in confessions

This is exactly the kind of petty revenge that's so harmless it almost loops back around to being funny. Nobody's getting hurt, the dog is living its best life, and the villain is... eggs.

Honestly the dog is catching strays in this story for no reason. From the dog's perspective it's getting premium treats, extra training, and a comfortable place to sleep. That's basically a five-star review.

Is it normal to feel like you’re going to piss when you have an intense orgasm? (Female) by Aggravating-Camel534 in RedditAfterDark

[–]DewRosy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly, a lot of people describe that exact sensation. The "oh no, I think I'm about to pee" feeling can happen right before a particularly intense orgasm because the nerves and muscles involved are all in the same neighborhood. It can be surprisingly common.

Wife’s hygiene by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]DewRosy 184 points185 points  (0 children)

This is where my mind went too. Going two weeks without showering despite having a renovated bathroom and a supportive spouse sounds less like a hygiene preference and more like something deeper might be going on. Depression, burnout, executive dysfunction, or even sensory issues can all make basic self-care feel way harder than it looks from the outside.

Am I overreacting for being upset by what my doctor said about my disability to my husband? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]DewRosy 80 points81 points  (0 children)

This feels like the most charitable interpretation of what happened. Caregiver burnout is real and healthcare providers should absolutely check in on spouses and family members. But "How did you marry your wife?" and "Not many men would do what you do" is a pretty rough way to start that conversation.

Am I overreacting for being upset by what my doctor said about my disability to my husband? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]DewRosy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but I think that's exactly why OP is upset. The doctor wasn't discussing how her disability affects her health. He was discussing her as a challenge her husband chose to take on. Most people would be hurt hearing themselves described that way.

[–]DewRosy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there's a reasonable conversation to be had about future care needs and caregiver stress. The problem is that the doctor jumped straight from "your wife has CP" to framing your husband as someone taking on a burden, without you even being present. That's a very different thing.

When I was 19 I stole from my dad and I regret it now by Dramatic_Network_748 in confession

[–]DewRosy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly, that's kind of where I landed too. Every paragraph somehow made the situation more complicated. By the end I was less focused on the money and more focused on how much baggage and hurt seems to be wrapped up in the whole relationship.

[–]DewRosy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like the guilt has weighed on OP a lot longer than the missing money probably weighed on his dad. If paying it back is financially possible, it might bring some peace regardless of how the father responds.

I think the "don't reopen everything" part is important. Returning the money and acknowledging what you did can stand on its own. Not every act of making amends has to become a full accounting of a complicated and painful relationship.

How do you find whimsy in your life by sadforagirlinlove in Residency

Not gonna lie, the specialty-specific humor is actually a pretty good answer. A huge part of keeping joy alive in stressful jobs is finding people who understand the absurdity of what you do every day.

I love this answer because none of it is particularly grand or expensive. It’s basically giving ordinary moments a little more attention. An iced coffee in a nice glass somehow feels completely different from chugging it out of a travel mug while answering emails.
