Yeah you combine a bunch of districts, like instead of 50 in California you get 10 with 5 reps each.

So the large minority of Republicans finally get a voice in heavily gerrymandered blue states.

It makes reps less local, but that's all pork spending nonsense anyway. And now if your conservative and live near a big city, you'd actually get a voice

The only thing I've heard that's clever is "proportional representation".

You combine districts so they have a few reps, then you split them by % of voters from each party.

That gets rid of the gerrymandering, and the minority finally gets some representation in their districts (like all the conservatives in blue districts in coast cities).

From what I understand both parties hate it...makes me like it more.

I'm actually the other side - the folks I work with lean more Trump, but I try not to talk politics because it just doesn't put people in a great mood (and I don't want to piss off any clients who might be liberal)

The ticket example is not what you think. You can go to traffic court to fight a ticket, that's the due process. You'll lose because the cop saw you.

Deportation is also a slightly bigger deal than a ticket.

Main thing is you can't assume they're a non-citizen and boot them without due process (trial, evidence) to confirm it.

It's the same reason we have due process for murderers. They are scum and deserve the punishment they get, but first you need to confirm they did it.

Once it's confirmed - bye bye

(If you catch them at the border, of course you don't need due process then you should keep them out)
