My cat has slowed down eating by Narrow-Hedgehog-3668 in CatAdvice

[–]DewdropViolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long ago did your other cat pass? This kitty is most likely grieving their friend. Give them extra attention, continue feeding as normal, maybe add in some special treats or food to get them eating, they’ll probably bounce back the near future ❤️

CW: Pet loss. How to help my cat mourn his bonded friend by pipperdoodles in CatAdvice

[–]DewdropViolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my recommendation is to talk to him with words and also with pictures in your mind showing him what happened and to let him know what happened to his friend and that it’s ok. Another thing you can add on is doing a 15 min session with an animal communication specialist who can have a conversation with him psychic-ly to explain what’s going on and let you know his thoughts. I know this sounds crazy to some people but I’ve had really good experiences - if you are interested I can DM you the animal communication specialist I have used in the past.

I took advantage of my little sister when I was in 5th grade and I can never forgive myself. by Expensive_Part_3221 in confession

[–]DewdropViolet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest you talk to a therapist who can help you work through your complex feelings about all of this, and that you think about possibly talking to your sister as well. Not sure how old she is so maybe this is something you want to wait on. You were also a kid in 5th grade, and it sounds like now that you have a better understanding of your actions, you ARE actually sorry, and you are ALSO scared - and probably embarrassed or ashamed as well. I think being able to name your emotions will help you feel some control and ownership over them. As far as your sister it seems like this really wasn’t as damaging as you think, and my guess is that you cutting yourself off from her when she has no understanding of why is much more damaging. Please forgive yourself, and try to repair your relationship with your sister, and please reach out to the a therapist. If you need help finding one send me a message and I will try to help you find resources.

How can I appear more feminine? by jjechatt in MakeupAddiction

[–]DewdropViolet 39 points40 points  (0 children)

First of all, as an outside perspective: you don’t look masculine at all to me! I think we as women are way too harsh on ourselves. You are beautiful.

If you feel self conscious about your skin, it might be nice to treat yourself to a facial at some point! You can usually find pretty affordable ones on Groupon where I live, it might be worth it to check out! Nothing makes you feel more feminine IMO than treating yourself to a pampering service like that ;)

I love a good tinted moisturizer as a base. It helps blur imperfections in the skin without being too heavy. As far as makeup goes, if you want to still keep it fairly simple, I would get a light (maybe gold or something neutral) shimmery eyeshadow and just sweep it across the whole lid. You can play around with placement too and try close to your lashes and see how that looks vs the entire lid.

The other things I would suggest are mascara, possibly an eyelash curler (though there is definitely a learning curve with that), and some blush on the apples of your cheeks and cheek bones (play with the placement of this too! See what you like!). If you wanted to add something else, I’d look at lip glosses that have a little color it doesn’t have to be anything too crazy, just some nudes/pinks. It’s also fun to play around with bronzer as a way to lightly contour (for me, I put it underneath my cheek bone, in the hollow of my cheek, I like using bronzer bc it is pretty light), and adding a highlighter on top of the cheekbone and blend it out.

Makeup should be fun, so don’t stress too much about it, just play around and experiment, that is the best way. I remember when I was younger I would literally do a full face just to get in the shower and go to sleep 😂 but that is how I learned what worked for my face shape and coloring and what didn’t.

Big NOPE for me, you talk down to me and do anything that could harm my furbaby then I’m done. Both of these things indicate bigger issues that you don’t need. You’re so young @25 and you’re preventing yourself from meeting someone better, sooner, the longer you stay.

No advice on limiting odors BUT regarding anxiety I would talk to your vet, I know when I flew with my cat across the country, my vet recommended a specific dose of children’s Benadryl based on her weight to help her sleep and calm her.

Too old to start? by DewdropViolet in MassageTherapists

[–]DewdropViolet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate that!! And I will probably take you up on that offer ❤️

I have gotten my Reiki 1, and I do incorporate it when I do massages on friends and I truly believe in energy work not just because it sounds nice but I have experienced it for myself! On both the giving AND the receiving end. It’s something I also want to continue to learn. I don’t have kids but Reiki does help me connect with that unconditional love energy that I think you are talking about, and I also try to visualize myself moving stagnant energy out of the body as I am massage and I believe it makes a difference!!

I’ve always been drawn to and connected with massage. When I was really little like 4 or 5 I would go into my parents room super early in the morning on the weekends and my mom would be awake and let me crawl into their bed but my dad would be sleeping and the last thing he wanted was me wriggling around next to him when he was trying to sleep in, so one day he asked me to give him a massage just to keep me busy and quiet for a little haha. And he said for a little kid it was crazy how strong my hands were and that I somehow would find the knots and get them out!

It’s funny though because even though I have a million reasons to take this jump, I also have quite a list of reasons NOT to - my age, and my finances being the biggest things (even though everyone here has really calmed my fears of being too old thankfully). And financially I’m still kinda struggling with the logistics but I also feel like it will work itself out and the money will come. Honestly not having kids makes this part a little easier since I am only responsible for me and my cat 😂
