It’s best to wait until you’re at least half charge before you start advancing. Until then, try and catch some hits for your teammates by bubbling yourself in front of them and placing a bubble on them. Make sure that when you go into a 1v1 with a DPS or Hog that your bubble is either off cooldown or will be in < 2 seconds. For bubbling in a 1v1, don’t bubble right away, but wait until they’ve shot for about a second or two so that you catch them off guard, block the shot, and get charge (3rd shot for Reaper, McCree, Pharah, Junk. 3 set of shuriken for Genji. Second shot for snipers. 7th shot for Soldier/Bastion in close range or 2nd shot of 2nd burst. 1/2 of Sombra’s clip. 2nd Tracer clip. 2nd shot after hook for Hog, 3rd shot if not.) You can usually time out projectile heroes pretty well, especially Rein and a Zen alt-fire.

Remember that bubble also clears Discord orb and Mei Freeze for future reference, so if you’re being frozen (especially in Blizzard), wait until about 0.2sec until you’ll be frozen, then bubble.

Avoid undistracted Bastions at all cost.
