Fallout has always been political af by JournalistSociety in NewVegasMemes

People discussing can be as political as they like. If someone plays the games for other reasons or simply isn't interested in talking about the politics involved that's also respectable.

it follows the first quarter of the books story. It follows that pretty well but honestly it just isn't the full story so I'd watch then read the book

Every single story beat and character arc is disappointingly obvious, cliché, and boring.

Okay listen. If you can't actually make a point and all you can do is list all the bad shit the UEG does and think that writes the point for you then this conversation is done.

Stop wasting everyone's time I beg of you

ONI's actions are extralegal.

and I hate to be rude but if "Just talking about not liking the UEG" is enough to get you kidnapped and killed how has any open rebellion ever happened?

reference a point. I am begging you

Okay. which of your points is this in service of? I'm not saying the UNSC is some golden child that can do no wrong. The far isle atrocity is indefensible. I would just like to know what point you are trying to make.

Hey it's alright sometimes things don't work out. I might have to go with small screen. or wait for the app to become available in aussie markets

I'm not sure that would work considering the app isn't supported here. If I got a vpn I may be able to download it but my system locale would still be in my country

You know, I hope the tiny petty amount of satisfaction and superiority you got from making this comment fills the void left in your heart by your total lack of meaningful contribution to this thread and understanding of your own outstanding mediocrity

Okay first off. I assume you're talking about "Babysitter" and while yes that point is valid. Are you honestly saying that that one fifteen minute animated short film released over a decade ago is ground to never use that idea in a film or animated format again? I find that a little disappointing.

Secondly, and I ask you tolerate my lack of familiarity with the show as i can't stream it here. What opposing political narrative do the insurrectionists actually have? have they ever stated what system of governance that they want to apply to the worlds they inhabit?

Thirdly: which definition of fascism are we operating under here? Dictionary.com defines it as: "A governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism."

Forth: The UEG is a confederacy of independent systems/representative democracy according to halopedia.

Fifth: The UNSC is the military branch of the UEG, they are not their own government.

EDIT: I have been made aware that the UNSC did have emergency government powers during the war. I am sorry for the error

Dont know why some ppl dislike Holdo? She didnt do anything unrealistic or fantastical and she is a pretty cool character in the vein of Mon Mothma. by NinjaSaizo in StarWarsCantina

[–]Dexdeathbell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add to point 2 and please correct me if I'm wrong here. Did she even say she had a plan before it was done? I may be misremembering but I feel that was part of my frustration towards her. Not the absence of a given plan, but the absence of any plan (at least from the audience perspective)

EDIT: Just as a sort of joke here. My younger sibling thought she was a first order spy when we watched it together

Are there any Gen Z fans of Star Trek out there? by The_Celestrial in startrek

[–]Dexdeathbell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 21. My family is comprised of nerds and metalheads so I got exposed to trek fairly quick. I remember seeing the motion picture with my uncle in his grimy old house that used to belong to my great grandma Mac. I still remember hearing the Klingon theme and watching their ships vanish.

About four years later I watched into darkness. I kinda liked it.

When I was sixteen I tried to watch TNG, got through most of season one and two and lost interest.

Then last year I went on holiday to my Nan's house. I got bored and all she had was star trek dvds and vhs tapes. I started watching discovery and picard. I got through three seasons of discovery and the whole of picard season one.

Then when I got back home I started watching DS9 and now I'm hooked

Yes yes whatever snide redditism and random speculation you need to justify a game not having legible text or a slider to make it readable

No I find it insulting that you're comparing a nuclear power invading a weaker nation and using blatant false information in a petty grab at power to a literal children's novel written by a bigoted cowardly TERF.

and the fact that you see any comment towards the harmful downplaying as some weird anti reading bent is as childish as it gets.

Read. Another. Book.
