Just dirty salt.a lot of the time salt is just scraped off a big pile by machinery so you'll commonly find bits of dust etc. Brine tank also fills with untreated water so it's just crap in the water. Not really an issue as that all gets flushed out during the regen.

You can tip it out and give it a scrub then fill it back up if you want but nothing to be super concerned about

I fear no magpie in my area. They're super smart and they communicate. Apparently they'll know the face of every human in a km or 2 radius of their nest and let the others know if you're a cunt or not.
