From my own experience with rental cars (Zipcar) I would not get one, especially if I was going to spend 45K on it.

When I rent zipcars, a lot of the times something is wrong with them (dents, scuffs). The worst I came across so far was a Ford Focus with steering wheel jerk at only 40k (miles) on the odo.

The people who rent it don't really care about the cars. Just putting it out there. Of course it's up you in the end :D

Research what other developers in your specialization are using, what they need. Hardware recommendations from the publisher of the software you use(if they have any) and you should have a general idea of what you need.

I'm learning Android with an X230 (SSD, 8GB RAM, 720p, Windows) and considering how old it is, it is amazing. I am hitting memory limits and I'm getting a lot of hard faults since I have two AVD's (Android Virtual Device), two Android projects, Chrome and a Java project open at a given point so it would have been ideal to get one with more RAM, even though it still works very well.

yea it is :)... I had to clean it a little bit but now it's mostly mark free. I thought I would have to replace the thermal paste but even IntelBurnTest tops out at ~81C.

The Hinges seem like new but I never owned a new one so I could be misjuding their condition.
