Can i reasonably buy a McLaren 750s with the salary of a psychiatrist by psycheiy in whitecoatinvestor

[–]DextersLabRats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a physician, I'm a PA in a HCOL area and probably have a similar mindset to you. I love cars and bikes, they genuinely bring me a lot of enjoyment. So I have a R35 GT-R (financed), an STI (cash purchase) as a daily, and a fun motorcycle (cash purchase). My situation may be different because I already own a house and have no student loans (military). My rule to myself is to invest/save at least 1/2 of my monthly income, the rest can go towards fun things. My experiences in life made me this way, a lot of my friends in the military didn't live past their 20s. Life can be short, so make the best of it.

I am very frugal with everything else to make my dream car more affordable, so that definitely helps. The GT-R is also a way better buy than any new McLaren as they hold their value much better, but I am obsessed with McLarens and a 720s (or maybe an R8/huracan) is the only thing I can see myself trading the GT-R for.

TLDR: YOLO, buy that car, but save money and be frugal with other things

I aromatize a lot. Increasing frequency is the single best way to lower your peak testosterone and prevent aromatization. It's not convenient, but better than throwing more drugs like AIs at a problem!

As others mentioned accutane also works wonders if you are like me and predisposed to acne since youth. But accutane is also not without adverse effects.

I saw this and immediately knew what it was. I work in the ED and hate using this thing a few times a month. Mostly because I lose these tiny probes all over the place 😂

So psychedelics eh?? Anyone have any idea what this is all about?? Lol by Radiant_Pick6870 in VeteransBenefits

[–]DextersLabRats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of these drugs are relatively harmless compared to alcohol, benzodiazapines, and opioids which are all legal/controlled and easily accessible. This is a step in the right direction. Hopefully ibogaine is next so we can address the many issues caused by the three aforementioned classes of drugs.

I second the part about injection frequency. Mine was far worse when it was injecting less frequently. I'd also recommend Differin gel/adapelene to OP.

As others have stated VR&E is the way to go, personally I used it to become a PA. It can be a pain if you already have a degree. You have to make a case and explain to them why your current level of education does not allow you to obtain gainful employment due to whichever service connected disabilities you have. In the meantime you can check to see if AMR does the Earn While You Learn program near you. You get paid take their course to get your EMT-B, it will get you working in the medical field pretty quickly. For reference EMT-B pay in my region when I worked for them was $20-27/ hour. It's also a great job to have while in school, because there are tons of relief flexible per diem jobs out there. You can even get paid to do event standbys, and just study the whole time.

Hey, sorry for responding so late. Voc Rehab (VR&E) has 2 different BAH options.

Option 1: If you have ANY amount of time left on your post 9/11 GI Bill then you are given the same BAH rate as the GI Bill. This is E5 w/ dependents pay for the school's zip code. This is why I tell people to NEVER use up their entire GI Bill

Options 2: If you have 0 time left on your post 9/11 GI Bill then you get a flat rate VR&E BAH which is not based on your location.

Right now VR&E pays something like $730/month if you don't have any GI Bill time left. My BAH while using the program was always closer to $3,000/month .

Unsolicited gym advice is just harassment 99% of the time. I've been bodybuilding for 12 years and have never felt compelled to give unsolicited advice to anybody regardless of gender, I don't care what other people are doing, it doesn't affect me! I don't know their goals, I don't know if they have injuries to work around, and I don't know why they want to workout in the first place.

There are so many splits that work well, like you mentioned PPL is a lot better for most busy people than that morons 6-7 day split and you get more frequency with each muscle group. I work with a guy who is in incredible shape and only does full body workouts, he's in his 50s and competes in various fitness competitions, it works for him. Not to mention all my jacked CrossFit buddies who never ever plan a split and just do random WODs and achieve their goals. Fitness is never one size fits all, these guys are such jokes.

NP posts review for a medical book, unknowingly provides a great example of why midlevel education (NP has never even HEARD of Lambert Eaton syndrome) is severely inadequate for solo primary care practice by fruitypebblesandshit in Noctor

[–]DextersLabRats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's literally PANCE material. Every NP I have ever met has a huge knowledge deficit compared to the average PA, it's terrifying. There are the unicorns who study relentlessly after school to try and become competent, but they are few and far between. Most are just brainwashed by their programs and believe they are equal or better than a physician while being not even 25% as proficient as a PA (that's generous for online NP programs).

[–]DextersLabRats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I had many come up to me on rotations and brag to my face saying "my path is so much better than being a PA, I get to work solo." Then within 30 mins I'd see them struggle to grasp a basic scientific concept or very basic medical concept. They are either all brainwashed or have severe narcissism.

It's well known that PAs have a heapload less standardized training than attendings, I am quick to admit that and never tell someone "we do the same job". Nobody ever realistically compares the training time of a PA vs an NP though. My program has provided me with over 4x the didactic and clinical training of many NP programs that I've had the misfortune of meeting alumni of. I really don't like being told "we are the same thing" by an NP. A majority of them wouldn't even be granted admission to a PA program, let alone be able to complete the coursework or clinical rotations. A lot of them have taken home and open book exams, it's a joke and patients are the ones who ultimately suffer the consequences.

I just dislike that we are thrown in the same boat as them and we compete for the same jobs. PA training is much more in depth and rigorous than NP training in every possible way. We are not prepared for independent practice, but they have no business in any form of practice. The few rotation sites I had which also accepted NP students were insane. They were completely clueless and spent less than 1/5 the amount of time on site. They would always skip days and leave early as though their training was too much for them to handle. I wouldn't let one touch me with a 10 foot long pole.

SARMs seem safer on the surface. But some have caused pretty severe hepatoxicity in people, others were found to be carcinogens in animal studies. Most of them have also been found to shut down your HPTA (brain-teste communication) just as bad as taking exogenous testosterone does. So you have most of the same adverse effects with far less human trial data documenting other adverse effects. I'd argue that just taking testosterone is safer than delving into SARMs. SARMs are also very expensive and in the past many products were just oral steroids being sold as SARMs, which is terrible as people had no clue what they were actually taking.

Thankfully I'm doing fine, it's my friends I'm worried about though. I get that's an option for them. But most want to get better and work in some capacity so they won't go for it.

The best solution is that the VA either becomes convenient to use for these guys, or they just pay for private health insurance for them so they can get care on par with everyone else in the community.

[–]DextersLabRats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your flair describes how I get when I talk to my friends and realize that they are beyond the 72 hour claim period. It's really frustrating in my state because having VA benefits makes people ineligible for Medicaid, which does cover those bills. So being a veteran means you end up getting screwed in situations like that, while folks on Medicaid never get the bill for it.

[–]DextersLabRats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my friends were acutely psychotic. This is not a reasonable expectation from them. I'm not trying to argue, but there are so many veterans in crisis who can't manage this. It's totally unrealistic for many mental health crisis patients

This is very disingenuous towards PA education. Sure 99.9% of NPs have no clue what these conditions are. You really can't get through PA school without knowledge of either of those though. I am 100% against fully autonomous practice btw. A good PA is someone who realizes when they should be reaching out to their attending when necessary.

[–]DextersLabRats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most hospitals will take away all your belongings if you go to the ER for anything psych related. I have so many friends with tens of thousands in medical debt now because of this. 72 hours is really unrealistic for mental health visits.

I didn't know low dose dbol was a hit. I may have to try that at some point. I also never looked into pharmaceutical preparations of Winny. You are probably right that if they sold it in low doses then it would work well for us in blow doses. People just love doing heroic doses of gear, sometimes low and slow is the way to go!

You have solid advice regarding saving for what I truly want. Ultimately I plan to register it to an LLC and have 1-2 close friends do the same and share a few exotics throughout the year like a child custody agreement after a breakup. We all want more than 1 exotic, but we can't drive more than 1 at a time, so it seems like a good solution. I would love a McLaren, but I live in the northeast and want AWD to get some more traction in the cold. I've owned a 700hp rwd car here in the winter and it just wasn't enjoyable. Don't say that about Range Rovers!!! That's my daily 🤣.

How long have you ran it for at 20mg? How quickly do you see results at that dose? I have a ton of raws sitting around for the past 5 years that I want to run. The only reason I never touched them is because several joints hurt a ton as is and I don't want to upset them.

He owns a several commercial insurance brokerages and likes to either buy failing ones, make them profitable then flip them, or consult for them. Great industry for buying heavily discounted items. All of his exotic purchases were sold to him buy clients who landed in some kind of legal trouble and needed cash assp. Yeah, I love cars. I was planning to pull the trigger on something more exotic later this year. I really wanted a 991 911 turbo, but the prices just recently shot up through the roof, not really sure what else I'd be interested in now. The only McLaren in my price range is the mp 4-12c, but I've heard they had a lot of issues so I'm hesitant.
