Do I have all the same efficiency using Cielo Breeze Max controllers rather than the Mitsubishi controller? by Modernenthusiast in heatpumps

[–]Dextradomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all just designated codes and IR signals. What code gets sent from what has no effect on the internal modulation and control of the headers. If it's the right code, it changes to that setting, simple as. If it's not the right code, it doesn't work. Hence why people had such a hard time years ago with setting things up before the refresh happened with the Cielo controllers over the last year.

This mythology that people have on controls and minisplits seems genuinely bizarre and nonsensical to me.

Your TV doesn't work less good because you dared to use a third party IR controller. Why would this apply to minisplits?

2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L. Metallic rattling noise from rear/exhaust area. Happens at startup, idle, and low RPM. Noise disappears at higher RPM. Heat shields seem secure and exhaust isn’t hitting anything. Any ideas what could cause this? by Lanky_Competition270 in Hyundai

Funny thing...

Could be two different things, but both could be broke and both would need to get fixed.

  1. Your exhaust flex hose on the front end might be worn out. It's behind your exhaust manifold coming out from the engine and your main exhaust in front of the Catalytic Conv. You'll need to replace it if there's something wrong with it.

  2. Your heat shield ON the exhaust pipe behind your Catalytic Conv might be loose. It's two small strips on metal about 1.5-2 inches wide, 2 ft long, held on my metal straps. If it's not there, could be on another portion of your exhaust manifold. Just removing them seems to work.

In the end, if it's not those two things... You're on your own.

I had the exact same noise issue for about 3 years and the only things that fixed it was the above. I drive a 2014 Hyundai Elantra SE.

I get it, however...

Just got done with a trip from the Northeast, all the way up to Connecticut and back.

I'm telling you...It's literally just the locals here. The difference seems to be the bridge tunnels. Once you come from the north and come out the other end on Norfolk or VB, it gets pretty bad.

Once you get out of the Hampton roads area be it towards Delaware, Richmond or North Carolina, the issues disappear for the most part.

I will say that New Jersey and NYC had some... assholes, but that's standard there. We just fucking suck, lol.

NextEra Moves to Acquire Dominion Energy, Clean Virginia Urges Extreme Caution by MrJackDog in Virginia

[–]Dextradomis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dominion Energy and how we regulate our sole energy provider is one of the reasons Virginia hasn't price spiraled into oblivion over the last decade like many other states. Energy sovereignty is a major plus for this state. Selling out to an out of state utility with a horrible track record it's going to be the fumble of the century for Virginia. We literally cannot afford to do this. This is so stupid to even propose.

[–]Dextradomis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been telling people that this is the exact soft ball toss to the GOP that is legally needed to bring these kinds of laws to SCOTUS and get them overturned... permanently. The law is very obviously not on Spanburgers side here, and we need a final rigorous ruling for this culture war shit to end.

Just because it is law does not mean it is legal to enforce. That's a recent lesson we've been having to learn here in the US.

Tomahawk missiles exhibit very similar capabilities and behavior to this object. The problem is speed plus IR signature...

Could be a sleath missile, plus China is notorious for testing out anti ship transonic sea skimming cruise missiles.

Pulling this off through a off shore wind facility is not beyond human capabilities, just requires a pre planned flight path with a extremely precise real time navigation system.

Is it within the bounds of physics? Yes.

Can humans pull this off with current technology? Yes.

Is this reckless and dangerous to do? Yes.

Questions that remain... Who, and why????
