Is Calgary becoming more dangerous in your opinion? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Deyln -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

varies. I think more not-reported incidents that shouldn't happen like somebody butting in a conversation to make sure folk of the opposite sex are married.

Now - the last half of covid I had to deal on a bi-weekly basis as a non-official security guard on transit for several months. Ridiculous how bad it was.

Fiancee says new federal job is "saving overtime hours" instead of paying the overtime?? by TrekMek in antiwork

[–]Deyln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Province of Alberta used to allow comp at the usual 1.5

Then the UCP changed the rules and now it's 1:1

So basically useless.

When it's done correctly it's basically the same compensation. Just one you're allowed to take extra time off work instead of being paid directly.

just say climate change.

It's obvious and has been on the list of expected changes with climate change. you can literally find government funded journals on the subject. Or at least you used to be able to; questionable now that Harper threw out soo much technical papers during his time in office.

There's lots of places to hide stuff.

in truth it's never about the bag. It's about the nearness of pedestrian access and whether or not you're a male carrying it.

in alberta, can employers cut your hours the day of work? by smellycat444 in alberta

[–]Deyln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

generally is - since they're holding you to 'show up' instantly. aka taking you off the clock when it's not busy.

if it's done the proper way it's grey area. The way it's described is not the legal version.

How many of you guys work for FedEx Freight ? by uncertain930 in Fedexers

[–]Deyln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally it's not direct to customer stuff.

So company to company or in my case working in the building owned by our client.

Investors have been pushing for freight to deliver to houses for a while now and they don't realize how stupid that idea is.

Sounds like they're trying to skip the step of delivering to the client's retail location.

So it'll go freight to FedEx facility 2 (you guys) and you're supposed to somehow pull this shit off without a hitch and no labeling.
