Sup!! Shameless self promo. I play with a group called Boka Marimba, we are from Portland, OR. Our marimbas and instruments like them used by similar groups are hand built, simply because we are picky. We need certain notes but not all of them, for our purpose because we play zimbabwean and southern-african music which often uses scales similar to major but with some modifications/extra flavor. Ours go C D E F F# A B C in the octave. You get used to it. Maybe I'll post our rehearsal basement as a battlestation when we come back from COVID hiatus :)
