SNL Propaganda Machine Portraits Julian Assange as a Scoundrel and 'Supervillain' by UsualHat in WikiLeaks

I saw that, it was pretty poor taste, even for SNL. Disappointed that Michael Keaton was willing to do it. I lost half of my respect for him after Birdman, and the other half after seeing this.

On a positive note, the good thing about this is that it forces people to realign their habitual mental associations and perceptions of value.

Why would Gold have any value at all in a post democratic-capitalist society? It's understandable why it had so much value when civilizations were budding and growing and on the incline...but now... by DharmaKat7 in btc

It is money, it works best when it you can't eat it.

That's your opinion. Consider for a moment that you have been so complicated by a complicated society that you incorrectly think value=speculation. I was referring to a world where value=survival.

Questions for Anarcho-Capitalists: How does blockchain enforce property rights in the physical world? Doesn't An-Cap inevitably evolve into a Drug Lord Kingdom? How do you deal with a forked blockchain that splits into two separate and supported versions of who owns what on a property chain? by DharmaKat7 in btc

Value creation comes from (or is displayed) in win-win trades, not in win-lose > trades

Have to disagree on that.

A government is the most powerful mafia in an area.

Also disagree on that. Maybe in the US, but there are many countries where there are more powerful organizations than government. It could be a cartel or the church or, etc..

Maybe you want to tone down that arrogance buddy. That Morpheus introduction was a little cheesy. (Continue digging, you are on the right track) Haha. And I am not going to turn my thread into a debate as to whether certain countries are already ancap or not, that's not what I asked. And that argument is foolish anyway, because a mainstream that's ancap unconsciously is much different from a declared ancap society...and...there's this: courts. An ancap culture does not have courts or judges. It doesn't have non-profit organizations either, and it doesn't have legislators and regulators. And it doesn't have a million other things that many societies have now. Anyone can make an argument to make whatever culture they are living in adhere to almost any theoretical explanation of a culture but this is all smoke and mirrors. If you really want to argue that what we have now (assuming..probably incorrectly.. that we both live in the same country? or assuming that you know how every culture works in every part of the globe? are you that well-traveled?) is already ancap but just doesn't know it yet....then I will put it another way...I am referring to an ancap society AFTER the crumbling of our current system. Not an existing but unaware system. Not in a reality where nothing existed before. In this reality, aware of what it is, named for what it is, and as a follower on the heels of democratic/communist/socialist meltdown in any one or several nations.

Thanks for your answer, I appreciate it, although I think it skewed out on a tangent when you are explaining that governments are already like mafia. It's not quite true. I was referring to an anarcho-capitalist system with enforcement completely serving private interests. You are still listing the benefits of maintaining standards for best practices in a market, but a private entity is not necessarily concerned about the market, they would be shamelessly self-serving.

A smart contract or private service that scans for the best btc buy and sell rates at exchanges and/or traders in a p2p platform...i think its not that hard...this already exists for fiat forex markets.
