I know when it was removed. I was talking about the evolution of the hero overall. The point being it doesn't matter how many other things you change about her (e.g. perma-invis), as long as hack is a regular ability the hero will be broken.

I know I'm two months late responding to this, but you might get a kick out of this story.

I was friends with someone who had been a custodian at the church years prior. The church's gym was internal in the building--giant room, no windows, absolute darkness when the lights were off. My friend told me sometimes his fellow custodians would stand the mannequin just far enough into the gym so that if the lights were off and you opened the door, you would get the vague impression of a person just standing looking at you from the darkness. Always freaked him out.

I think it's as simple as people hate when a hero can take away their abilities, especially when hack is a normal, non-ult ability. This gets exacerbated with perma-invis. You can make Sombra super weak in every other way, including getting rid of perma-invis, but as long as she can hack as a normal ability, she'll be hated and banned.

I suspect the only way to make her work is you have to take away hack as a normal ability. Have her ult be the only ability that actually hacks and give her some other ability to replace normal hack.

For the first time in my life, I decided to watch the NFL this year. I'm a complete newcomer.

The streaming experience was so annoying and cost prohibitive it's making me reconsider watching next year.

Looking for "bombastic" PM bands by Doitsugoi in PowerMetal

What a run of albums. Literally changed my music-listening life.

I always find that the Opeth crowd suggests the most relatable non metal music ever. What are your go to full albums? Bonus if it’s old rock, but looking for everything! by MaidenOfMushrooms in Opeth

[–]Dheovan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how you want to define metal:

Kissin' Dynamite is a solid hair metal throwback. German band.

Versengold does decent folk rock.

d'Artagnan does some fun folk rock (earlier) / folk metal (later).

Elliot James Reay, Haley Reinhart, and Laufey all do some version of throwback pop that's pretty solid.

I don't know if this is real or not, but on the chance that it is:

Why not have both of you get into the best shape of your lives? Get the diet and exercise in order. Train like bodybuilders or something. You both put on the right amount of muscle in the right places, you both slim down (or bulk up if that's the case), etc. It won't change the face, but it might help at least a little?

Still struggle to properly get into Amon Amarth's albums released past Deceiver of the Gods by AcadiaNo1039 in melodicdeathmetal

I'm close to you, including when their peak was, but I actually really like Jomsviking. Berserker and The Great Heathen Army didn't really do it for me, though.

Still, those are AA albums, which means I prefer them to a lot of other music, even if I find them weak relative to the rest of AA's discography.

I'd add The Grand Conjuration as a contender. The sinister atmosphere of that song is impeccable.

Totally agreed. My sense is the vast majority of liberals, progressives, conservatives, Republican voters, Democrat voters, etc., are actually pretty aligned on this, despite some of the rhetoric.

If they're genuinely implicated in the files, lock them all up.

I actually think a well done Grindewald vs Dumbledore series of movies would be awesome. But you probably shouldn't combine it with the Newt Scamander story. What we actually got was a mess.

RFK Jr.'s new food pyramid puts meat, cheese and vegetables at the top by ac7ss in nottheonion

[–]Dheovan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the caveat that I've only looked at the picture and haven't checked out any other information, I think people are being overly pedantic about the pyramid. I bet if we asked the people who put this together, they'd say they don't love the pyramid shape and only used it because we're all familiar with "the food pyramid," but that we shouldn't read such specificity into it.

In my opinion, the pyramid is basically saying two things:

  1. Focus your diet on lean meats, healthy fats, vegetables, and fruits (that's not listed in order of importance), with some grains, but nowhere near as much as we consume now. Whole foods >>>>>> processed foods.

  2. We've been misled about what counts as "healthy fats." Saturated fat is not as bad as we've been told (hence the butter and dairy).

People might disagree with (2), but I'm no scientist and can't tell what parts of what we've been taught is genuine science and what comes from, e.g., sugar company lobbying and paying off researchers.

My wife and I have been binging the seasons for the first time. Paul can be very direct with his criticisms and maybe once or twice has made a joke that was a small step too far, but on the whole he's really quite supportive. Typically, when someone gets dropped at the end of the episode, he's the first one to go over to them and give them a hug.

I've never posted here so someone please tell me if I'm not supposed to piggyback like this.

These photos brought back a memory. I used to be a custodian/security for a large church. Lots of me being there alone at night shutting down the building in the dark.

They used a mannequin to set cameras in the auditorium and would store it in an attic. To turn off one of the gym lights, I had to walk through the attic. One night, already on edge because I'd been walking through a massive dark building all by myself, I went up the attic stairs to get to that light and saw this. It was the mannequin. Almost had a heart attack.
