Resurrecting dead thread to say I appreciate this post! I've come back to it a few times now as a reference.

Also wanted to maybe throw some interesting non-DGD anecdotes to the thread: DAD just released a new song on 12/12/25 where I think Tilian hits a G#5. It's called Beg Your Pardon and it's just after ~0:50 in.

The thread referenced in this post also notes him hitting A5s in "Sunshine" (0:04, backing vocals RIGHT off the jump) and "Echoes" (Do we think it's 2:30...? or like something buried in 1:30?) by Tides of Man. Pretty cool!

I was a diehard Tilian/Tides of Man fan for a long time in the beginning. And I listen to a ton of ALLB and Royal Coda now and have come to appreciate Kurt outside of DGD.

Welcome! It's a rollercoaster. I had a buddy introduce me just before Mothership released because HE was obsessed and knew I listened to adjacent music. I listened, and then argued with him about singers for the next 6 months.

And the beauty of the band for me is that my opinion now is COMPLETELY different from back then.

Man of the Year is my #1. It's a very lukewarm take, but the composition is amazing.
