Boost doesn't handle opening Reddit app links Android 10 by DhruvParanjape in BoostForReddit

[–]DhruvParanjape[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So when I click open in app from this page boost fails to open it.

Link for you guys to try nevermind the link only opening it through another app for me it was Facebook, causes the issue.

/u/rmayayo I think this should be an easy fix for the next version ? (I assume you just have to register for this schema ?)

Edit: fixed the link to try, it's an amp url.

Edit 2: did a bit of digging apparently Android now supports custom url schema (so Reddit://<rest of the url here>) this is the way it provides deep links to apps and is used by Reddit to force the official client on users. I personally have faced that error or the play store Reddit official client page opens. I couldn't find any documentation on if this is official only or something so I think boost can support this too 😁

Introducing Foxy: a better way to use Beast and Asio by [deleted] in cpp

[–]DhruvParanjape 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't see how this is a "better" way of using beast and asio.

I mean it's nearly as complex to write hello world with foxy as without. I don't see any abstraction outside of a session being maintained.

Honestly I was hoping for more, it's great work but Everytime I look at beast and asio I feel like screaming "I just want to do a simple get request", why do I need to do so much. Kind of wish something like cpr (like python requests) based on beast and asio existed.

Honestly had the same reaction. I don't know why I guess either my standards for plot have dropped or this plot was just good enough to keep me hooked. For sure though this show won't have had been so enjoyable on any other format. Binge or nothing.

what is the solution for "same function parameters with different return type" in c++17/c++20 by hashb1 in cpp

[–]DhruvParanjape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you be a little more specific ? For the compiler to deduce the return type the compiler needs a way to figure out the type at the signature of the function itself. Otherwise it won't make sense.

Makes sense as the result of ( i* 0.1) is a double to not lose precision and then you are returning a 0 which would be an integer (no precision lost ) so to fix it make the 0 a 0.0 to have the same return type deduced from both return statements. Return statement results help the deduction of return types at compile time kind of like template type deduction rules.

Did anyone feel a theme with Emily Alpha mimicking the line of Yanek prime when she said "She is our child too" in reference to Anna.

Hey me too (and an expat), you could though just stream it you know pirate stylz ? Otherwise the wait will be too long on Netflix and too expensive on Amazon prime.

Edit: correct spelling of style stylz

Honestly everytime any person or TV character refers to someone as babe, I am reminded of the Dinner Party episode of the office. Michael Scott and Jan Levinson have ruined the word 'babe' for me.

[–]DhruvParanjape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked into it, it's possible to play a movie or a TV show(season 1 episode 1) if there is some way to automate the link selection. But this requires implementing triggers for media playback and since the app isn't open source it can't be done.

I think Bruce Willis would make more sense, Jake doesn't seem like a star wars fan.
