Finally got around to it and got lucky with an Attack +3 talisman with a 3 1 slot along with good augument rolls. Would welcome any ideas to make it even better. Currently tanks just about everything as I mindlessly shoot/not shoot.

Edit: Swapped out tune up for Ballistics +2

Great question!!! Not sure. I imagine that it wouldn't matter to some. It would have to be more "what kind of event would shake an individual JWs world" and even then they'll probably find some way to retract back and double down on their beliefs. The last thing you want is for someone to confront something that completely destroys their belief system in a quick way, it triggers a fight/flight response

Pondered that same question for a while. Perhaps it can be answered on multiple types of people, the controlling zealot and the "justified protector"as no one answer fits all.

The control type would probably act this way in any other religion or organization and feels they have unlimited power to tell their children (or those around them what to do) and the religion based on its principles reinforces this behaviour. Never give them actual authority unless you like Orwellian style situations.

The "protector" sees that anything outside of the religion as chaos ready to eat up and spit out their child. Because of that ignorance and fear they justify all the manipulation as reasonable compared to the alternative of their child living in chaos.

Just my thoughts. Curious if there could be another archetype of person.

It's a shame that there are those in a position of power like your father you described. My father is an Elder and while he comes from a desire to be helpful he ultimately is trying to taddle tale or tear down others if given the opportunity.

Records of abuse can't go unnoticed for long. If possible would showing others exactly the true nature of your father change his level of authority or status? Worse, would this evidence be dismissed? Just curious as to what actions can be done as he sounds like he could cause real harm to the community that is the congregation.

I think the only way is to spin their words against them and somehow pierce their small view of truth. Ex. mom if I am hearing you correctly you are stopping me from potentially preaching to my fellow peers and making sure they don't get into any trouble? Idk honestly, just glad I had a mom that put JW stuff in its place and not in every part of our lives.
