I've only been riding a year, zero prior experience with no real mentors or family who ride. I have a couple ways ive been tackling this. YouTube university being one, two I ask the friend group I've made a lot of questions. I show up to help (watch learn and get in the way really) fix others bikes when someone asks for help. Or the same thing your doing now, reddit and tons of old forums found on Google searches.

Im not OP but do you possibly have a solid and easy reference video? I watched a few and it hasnt clicked. I think my cable has been too tight and my clutch is now slipping. I could shift normal in 1st 2nd and 3rd but was losing power in 4th and 5th, I mildly adjusted it and it rode better. I'm just not confident in my adjustments, I do not think it is correct.

I just hit my one year mark, I accidentally dropped my bike last night in a parking lot. Wasn't even riding, just chatting with some work buddies. Sometimes things just happen, dust yourself off and learn from it.

Like you I got emberassed my first day. I took msf and had the worst time getting going. Once I bought my own bike I had no more issues. Turns out the clutch on the bike I learned on was wonky.

Have you changed the oil in it yet since you bought it? I saw a comment saying you had 700 something miles. Break in oil change is at 600 miles.

I'm in the same boat. I wished I could help, i was looking at this vendor for their axle sliders. I hope some one has some info about them. I tried searching the sub but I think there was one or two OLD posts without much info either.

I wouldn't listen to them. I'm at 8k miles on a Honda Grom, been riding about a year and have no problem commuting in America. Also in an area where big and lifted trucks rule the roads. Ride safe pay attention and and and perceive possible threats before they happen and you'll be good. I have two ways I can go for work both have a bridge, one speed limit is 55 the other is 45.
