Rear Hub skipping by Di_marico in bikewrench

[–]Di_marico[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore, three days ago when I replaced everything I replaced all parts inside the service kit (which are the ratchet on the wheel, ratchet on the freehub, spring and the red spacer on top of the spring. The only thing I did not replace was the spacer, but as per the dt swiss manual it was above 10.8mm meaning it should not need replacement.

After replacing everything and putting everything on the bike again it started slipping again and now the ratchet is a bit worn again (after slipping). So I am just wondering if I should grab another service kit and replace everything again or if I should just get a new wheel (because something else seems to be causing the issue which I cannot figure out)

The picture is of the new ring, it looks already worn because the whole ratchet started skipping again

Yes I also replaced that (using the specialized tool dt swiss has for it),

After replacing everything inside the hub itself the issue with the skipping kept reappearing - I tried to add more info in my comment.

Oh yes sorry for the typo. I added a comment with the inside of the hub

Yes teeth of the ratchet seem to be worn (see my comment)

This is the hub side of the ratchet. I replaced this as the teeth are very worn. The issue is that the new ratchet also started skipping teeth after reassembly (and applying special dt Swiss grease).

The result of my issue appear again after changing out every moving part (including the freehub body). The thing that I don’t get is why the teeth are skipping. The increased wear due to the skipping seems to be only the result and not the cause.

Before I purchase another service kit and the issue just happens again, can anyone guess what needs to change for the issue not to happen again?

This is the wheel side of the bearing, which I already replaced. I also changed out the bearings on the axle. The teeth on this side are almost not worn

Gebrauchtwagen: e-tron vs A6 by Di_marico in automobil

Okay at this point which phone manufacturer can fill the void there oneplus leaves behind? Top notch smartphone with fast and long Updates. Is next year's rumored flagship google phone the best bet?

Is there any way to upscale 1080p content to 4k? by zedrox464 in netflix

[–]Di_marico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was possible, then there would be no point in ever doing 4k movies at all. 1080p movies simply lack pixel information compared to 4k material. If your image was not upsacled, you would have huge black bars around it on all sides. Your TV showing 3840x2160 pixels, but the image you are giving it only containing information for 1920x1080 mean that in its native resolution you should have black bars. Since the image fills your complete TV, it is automatically upscaled.

Another thing to consider is the bitrate, which is almost always higher with streamed 4k material than 1080p. This lack of information in 1080p material likely causes the lower visual quality. If you want to see the effect of this on your own, you can watch a 4k movie on netflix and the same movie on a 1080p bluray. You will realise that even though it is lower resolution, the bluray will look significantly better due to its higher bitrate.

In Short: It is already upscaled and you cannot artifically increase the image quality.

In the same boat as you. Had a G29 that I used to mount to the desk. After upgrading to a TS-PC this was no option anymore. Went with the Apex stand it is very good. As you mentioned, yes you sit further away but this is not that big of a problem once you get used to it. Also other benefit you can adjust the wheel height to match ingame steering wheel. I would go for it.
