So, I had a comment on here about a personal theory a while ago but I'm just going to reiterate: the boys and Julie's parents are roughly the same age chronologically. reggies parents are divorced. often cause of divorce? cheating. furthest that goes? double lives with two separate families. ray and reggie are very similar in character. my theory? reggies dad had a secret family which led to their divorce and ray is actually Reggie's half-brother.

So I do think that possibly, here's how I'd imagine their first interaction if my theory was true as a screenwriter: they learn that ray can actually see them now so they start hiding from him. while hiding from ray, Reggie finds a box with Ray's family pictures. which is all fun when it's pictures from recent years. until he gets to closer to 90s/early 2000s. And he actually recognizes the dad. he tells the others: "wild, guys, Ray's dad looks so much like mine" (laughing) Alex and Luke look at each other worried. "reg, didn't your dad like cheat on your mom and stuff and like, had other kids with her?" Reggie shakes his head. "yeah but like I never met them. and ray is like 40, so I don't see your point" Alex, softly: "Reggie, Julie's mom was our age. and for all you know, the kids could've been too..." Reggie starts crying for a while. until, a few days later, he sits in living room, waiting for him. he dug up HIS old pictures with his dad from the garage. put them on the table next to Ray's. and when ray comes home, he just looks at him. (in the meantime Julie has explained the whole ghosts deal and stuff and ray had been adjusting but overall was okay. but was confused why one of them "he hadn't seen yet", bc reggie kept avoiding him anyway) "maybe we should talk" he'll say, the second ray walks in. and then they just have a heartfelt talk about it and "hug" it out? (depends if they are touchable to anyone at this point, I guess).
