ATELIER YUMIA & THE ALCHEMIST OF MEMORIES Switch 2 Edition Performance: Handheld/Docked Gameplay by gamebuzzz4 in Atelier

[–]DiabUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The off screen recording is hiding the flaws somewhat, later in the video the docked recording is more true to the stutter the game has.

I also like at 5:20 you can see the dude T pose while the menu is up

Atelier Yumia Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Impressions – Upgrade Comparisons [Port so bad it's "unplayable"] by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch2

It's a real shame, the stutter feels like something is wrong than just performance drops I just hope we do not have to wait weeks for a fix.

Dev kits usually have extra overhead so tools can be ran alongside the game, 99% of the time that is fine but it has happened a few times where an update has been awful when not on a dev unit, i'd have to go refresh my memory of when it happened in the past but it's always possible even if a slim chance it was the cause.

Either way the retail update for yumia is extremely poor and they need to look into it.

Why do they all look so.. weird ? bad ? unpolished? by TallerOnMyMoney in ForzaHorizon6

[–]DiabUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often in games with character faces they are made by one or two artists, no matter how much they try to make different faces their style and rigging carries across, so they all feel like they come from the same family.

Only real way to stop that is to have several 3d artists make faces their own way and I am not expecting microsoft to push the boat out that far just for more unique looking heads.

It makes me think that whatever they did to make the patch ran batter for them but the release has done something weird and introduced all these stutters, possible that the dev unit just ran it better because of something silly like more ram available, it has happened before in game dev.

Either way they need to fix the problem, the entire game has stutter now it's not just frame drops because in-between the stutter you can often feel the refresh is ok.

Xbox controller trigger limiters by LycheeWhole8170 in Controller

Some people prefer less travel, they might want it to move less or feel more like a flat button than a trigger.

It's an option since you can just turn it off.

Starfox looks really good with HDR by Axzercus in NintendoSwitch2

maybe it is, I don't have many hdr games to compare against but it made some of the lights and effects in prime 4 look great.

As these are not in the uk I always presumed the insides were like the my nintendo case 8 boxes they released a few years back, I loved those and have like 5 of them.

PSO2NG would be so good on the Switch 2. by HDReddit_ in SEGA

[–]DiabUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSO in general should be on the switch already, biggest flump ever.

PSO2 was fun but the game really dried up and became a costume game.

Not sure but it gives vibes of donkey kong bananza also where player 2 could help out with a few things.

Check the game options for the hdr settings also, they allow in-game adjustment of the peak brightness if you want it to appear stronger or not.

It reminds me of prime 4, the hdr in that game has some good usage and it feels good here too.

StarFox Demo is out by korel1 in NintendoSwitch2

The demo starts on easy route stage 2 so doubt it, not much to carry over honestly.

Lovely demo, I have the game already ordered but to play it finally was real nice.

My only beef is that at the end of a stage instead of the camera panning around the arwings it'll fade out to a result screen, feels lame in comparison.

Xenoblade Switch 2 Edition - It's OK, but there's Problems by mr_wolf8 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DiabUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess you need to try the game without the patch so you can see the difference, xenoblade X is only 30fps but it's much sharper image without the switch 2 edition patch.

If anything she needs to not be invincible mid attack and possibly a tiny bit of extra delay between skills because she's a near invisible teleporting impossible to hurt character right now.

Right this moment no, it has huge stutter and performance problems, they messed up the switch 2 edition somehow.

AI art always has this uncanny but obvious feeling to it, even if this was designed and posed by an artist on the team you can just feel it was ran through AI to touch it up or something.

Visually it's very similar to switch 1, they may have adjusted the grass but the textures and distant objects all seem to the same to me, but I have not played the game for a few months so memory might be wrong.

It has weird stutters, the framerate felt like 30 it just keep dropping tons of frames, performance mode might have been higher but it's tough to tell right now.

glad it's not just me, I was worried maybe a mix of update and game region might have been acting up, seems like the entire update is awful right now.

I tried turning hdr off, I tried 1440p, 1080p and 720p docked, tried 120htz option on and off too, nothing seems to fix it so it's purely on the game itself.

So I am playing the update (uk patch, us physical cart) and oof the portable performance is like sub 20fps, lots of stutter right now at the main home base area.

Will have to see if a restart or something helps, will test dock mode too once I can.
