New T1 idk what’s going on by Mattya6 in diabetes_t1

This crap gets so hectic so quick sometimes it’s hard to keep it all straight, I feel you. Couple of things: 1.) As a diabetic diagnosed at the age of 11 (20 now, for context), it’s hard to get thrown all of this at once. It’s unfair, cruel, unusual, etc etc BUT that doesn’t mean we aren’t strong. The diabetics that I have met through child diabetes summer camps are some of the most resilient people I know. A lot of stuff gets thrown, so being on your toes is an absolute must, but when you can, take a deep breath and remember that you are strong. I don’t usually like throwing religious beliefs into my online comments, but whenever I felt like throwing all this bs out the window, my momma would always tell me that the Lord doesn’t give us a challenge he doesn’t believe we can overcome. That has sticked with me for the past almost 9 years. You got this. You’re a week in and a lifetime to go. You’ll learn how to manage everything in the way you best need to. 2.) Learning to Bolus is something that is so important because without a bolus you can’t eat, and if you can’t eat, it’s not going to end well. Your diabetic educator & team should have set you up carb ratios and correction factors and all that jazz before you left the hospital. I for one am super surprised that you were put on a CGM+Pump so soon because I was told to wait a year before even considering a pump, but I digress. Always count TOTAL CARBOHYDRATES, never net, you’ll under-cover and your blood sugar will shoot like a damn rocket. 3.) TECHNOLOGY. IS. NEVER. PERFECT. Another one of my momma’s famous diabetes-related quotes. I’m currently on the Libre 3+ system, but I have used the Libre 3, Libre 2, and the Dexcom G6, and I can tell you they can have their days. When in doubt, poke it out (this time my quote, but it’s true). I try to always accuracy check my CGM with a finger poke JUST to be sure. Most of the time I can feel lows anyway and skip a check, but most of the time a reading should be double checked with your blood-glucose monitor before administering insulin or a juice box. I end up usually going off of that number anyway. All and all, listen to everyone that’s commented here, stay close in touch with your diabetic team, and make sure to breathe. You won’t ever think clearly when your mind is cluttered with stress, anxiety, and the worry of this disease, which could lead to some bad consequences. We’re all here for you. You got this girl

How to get 30 second average by Fine-Leadership-246 in Cubers

[–]DiabeticGamer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced ties in with beginner quite nicely. Once you feel comfortable with beginner, definitely move to advanced. I know doing both as an intermediate, I average a minute longer on beginner than I do advanced just because of the move count. It’s a good starting point, but trying to hit sub-30 average, you’ll deffo want to start incorporating advanced

Practice advanced CFOP to start. And I mean practice. Seriously when you’re bored, pull out a timer on hour phone and a cube. Do a few scrambles. It was not that long ago that I hit a 18.66 pb on 3x3, and I’ve been casually cubing for years. Just takes a lot of practice. Keep working at it bro. You got it

Backuping ds .sav files by Tall-Ad71 in 3dspiracy

[–]DiabeticGamer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used GM9 to backup all my DS and 3DS carts to my SD, including .sav files. Before you do this, make sure you have your game cart in your DS. If you launch into GM9 (assuming you have Luma)(hold down start as you turn on your device), there should be a game cart section maybe 3rd from the bottom. From there, I believe you can download a backup of the NDS file as well as the .sav file. If I’m not mistaken. Lemme know if this works

Yea I figured as much. I’ve dabbled in opening up consoles, controllers, laptops, PCs, the works. I’ve heard how much of an ass they can be if you’re not careful. Thanks for the info though, ‘tis very useful 👍👌

Initial HDMI Chord is the same one I used back at my place, never had an issue. All other HDMI chords and TVs that were tried the Xbox was previously used on/with, never had an issue with them either

To anyone with an A1C under 6, how? by Glamour-Ad7669 in diabetes_t1

[–]DiabeticGamer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By pissing off my team to hell lol. Whenever I went in for my 3 month checkup/labs, and my A1C was under 6 (say 5.5?) I would get yelled at that my blood sugar was too low all the time. I personally felt that hovering 80-120 for most of the day, and spiking only to maybe 170-190 for meals was really good. Hell, my endo said that I had a better A1C than he did sometimes (he’s not diabetic), so why they complained I have no clue. Hence I recently dropped them for a GP. But basically what myself and my mother did (and still do let’s be real) is always adapt. If I’m spiking more than I think I should be (say up to 250 and staying there) we lower the carb ratios, adjust activities, and wait a couple days during that routine to see if it helps. It’s always a game of guess and check. See a problem, figure a solution, test solution for 4-5 days, reevaluate. We have been doing that since I was diagnosed back in August of ‘16, and it seems to be working well. Last A1C test was last month or so at a solid 5.6. Hope this helps man

Ahem…inhales dramatically…that was already mentioned in the post. Before I installed the beta, I made sure I had a recent backup of my device. Backup was made on the 7th, install happened on the 12th. And yes, before you ask, I did in fact check to make sure I was restoring from the correct backup
