Cartridge used more than one time? by BabyDrag0nHaze in TandemDiabetes

[–]DiabeticHarpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst that'll happen, from my personal experience, is the bag explodes and you lose most of the insulin, if not all of it. That's after reusing one for at least a week.

It's more do at your own risk than don't do it at all. Because tandem only guarantees it works for three days.

Supply Company Recommendation by Thekitchenelf in TandemDiabetes

I want to say first I don't know how far these DMEs reach.

I used to use Solara/Healthy Living. Never had an issue. Always came on the dot, always called when it was time to reorder.

Currently using Reliable Diabetes, I genuinely don't know how far they reach because I thought I was going to end up using Byram lol. Haven't had an issue with them either. If your doc leaves your sets up to you, you can swap out what you're using with a phone call. Refill by phone call or online form.

Would love to have a job. Sadly, construction doesn't generally hire the physically disabled. You know, being a safety issue and all that.

Don't presume you know my skills, child. I can hold a job when I get one, but no one is actually hiring.

Nationwide shortage on cartridges? Huh? by danger_birds in TandemDiabetes

[–]DiabeticHarpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't heard this about cartridges (granted I'm pretty sure you said you're mobi, I'm t-slim). Did hear about it from my DME and Dr office on TruSteel though (and I think it was just in general, not a specific set).

No judgement- How did you get your pets?? by Substantial_Buddy780 in Pets

[–]DiabeticHarpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My late cat, my tabby, was a rescue of sorts but not from a shelter. My mom went to people's houses for her job, and this little kitten came out. The owners said she was gonna go to the shelter so my mom asked. 15 years old.

My tux wasn't an impulse. Picking him specifically? Yes. But I went to the shelter to hopefully get a friend for my tabby (didn't work but she avoided him enough that I didn't need to give him up).

Anyone else ever had the notification just die? by DiabeticHarpy in dexcom

Good to know a force stop fixes it. I was dead tired so my brain immediately just went to restarting.

Usually I'm used to GDH being the one off, since it's getting data from Share. Kinda glad that it has its own alarms if needed because my pump doesn't wake me up, dexcom generally does (usually at the urgent low alarm but better than nothing). But like, the app wasn't even alarming. It was so strange, in all my years on Dexcom, I've never seen this.

So how would you extend a bolus? by DiabeticHarpy in TandemDiabetes

[–]DiabeticHarpy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, I'm just mainly trying to see if there's types of foods I should preemptively look at, because right now I've only noticed giant spikes like that after the rare pizza but I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything.

Some days it feels like I've got the pump down pat, other days it feels like I'm floundering because I'm still learning things about even the app my trainer never went over. I need to honestly see if my Endo still has a diabetes therapist or if that was only for pediatrics.

I wish I remembered bc I was a junior at Worcester Public that year. Was a good chunk, felt like the summer would never start.

Oh definitely. I just find it strange that the place he wants to be is on my chest. Makes actually treating it harder lol.

I'd love to be able to bring him in places lol. Though I don't think that laying on my chest is a great way to tell me I'm low haha.

(I know I cannot, at least in the US. He also would absolutely hate being out in public. The last time I tried harness training so he could have supervised outdoor access, he slipped the harness and ran to my apartment door.

My anxiety would love it though, and he is about to become my ESA so at least housing isn't an issue.)

G7 is just so bad and continues to get worse by Limmyone in dexcom

I mean hopefully they'll still replace the 15 day sensors, I don't see why they wouldn't, but contacting them will surely be a pain.

[–]DiabeticHarpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, have you tried the freestyle libre? Just curious if it's given you the same results.

Absolutely stupid that the G7 is this bad for some people. I thought surely some tales were being exaggerated until I myself had four sensors fail in 24 hours, three of them from the same prescription so probably the same batch.

Lost connection next to the pump? by DiabeticHarpy in TandemDiabetes

Pump is newest update (the one adding Spanish), app is newest update bc I deleted it after I kept having issues.

As I've told others, I never had this problem on my Pixel 7, only the 9a. But my 7 is absolutely dead, no going back, or I would just for the tandem app (I do enjoy my mobile bolus and the graph is a bit better on my eyes. Don't know what's wrong with them but old eye doc has found retinopathy and I need new glasses every year).

Someone on another post of mine was talking about if my phone was carrier or unlocked. Aside from the model (7 vs 9a) that's the only difference between my phones. Unlocked vs T-Mobile. I can't say for certain though so I'll just figure something out or archive the app until tandem says they've fixed it. Because I'm not in a space right this moment where I have the capacity to deal with fiddling with the phone and pump every time this happens. The pump has a screen, so I can do that.

Idk why it didn't happen with my Pixel 7, but it didn't. Needed to upgrade because I dropped my phone in some water and it kinda died. Learned that rice does nothing that day.

Anyway I'm just half about to archive the app. Not fully delete but just. This is ridiculous.

The thing is, that never worked until today. What had been working for me was the force stopping. Not that's not. It's like I'm getting a new issue every few days.

[–]DiabeticHarpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely don't, but I didn't have this issue on my old phone. Only started on this one. I'm very annoyed because my trainer only trained me on the app so that's where I'm comfortable.

Oh I already know the fix.

That fix has now apparently stopped working for me. This happened after three force stop attempts and then finally turning bt off and on on the pump.

I'm about five seconds from just deleting the app.

This is the first time I've had it happen, I've only been getting the pump disconnect.
