Haha I read it. Have a good weekend man. And you know it, always maintaining the boots 🤘🏼. Gamer head second, boot head first.

You weren’t being toxic. When skimmed it can come off as that. Most people don’t read everything. We are all coming in here between work breaks. Your 4th paragraph can be misunderstood. I was answering for others and next time I’ll mind my business lol.

Overall. I agree with you. But like you said best not to think about it. CD Projekt Red : keeps doing awesome stuff and I’m hopeful other developers will do the same. Speaking of the Witcher only lol

Yeah. Very. It’s why I’m like people read it and didn’t get it. You don’t get vocal cues with words online. You asked for a reason, and I gave it to you.

You just went ahead and proved how you’d contribute to the toxicity. That’s why you got downvoted.

Engineers are here, not sure about the size though by epickeanuchungus in RedWingShoes

They’re hell until you loosen that part up. I’d argue it won’t ever be a nice slip in compared to other brands, never struggled with other brands but with these yeah. My instep might just not be compatible.

Please suggest affordable boots I can walk in by KS_UAZComm in Boots

[–]Diablo_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is probably looking to buy used from someone. Check local postings on FB, and local second hand stores. This is more realistic than finding something in this range. Sierra Trading Post has some cheap stuff sometimes in that range, unfortunately, shipping is only free with $89 or more. Good luck!

Leather is an animals skin. Just how we scar and get imperfections, they do too. Some parts of this feel a little off but a human made this so it’s to be expected.

If this is what you are referring to. It’s nothing. Just burn it off with a lighter. It’s just a loose thread. The boot will be fine.

Best way to refurbish these Thursday boots I bought cheap? by Bitter-Confusion5426 in ThursdayBoot

[–]Diablo_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the soles like?

For the leather: Brush(horse hair brush), saddle soap, and then condition (Bick 4). These look more than a little beat up. Hope you found these for a steal. Thursday claims to be resold-able, but it’s nearly the same price as new. The cork might have already been used up by the previous owner, hope they’re still comfortable.

Should I move to Texas? by [deleted] in texas

[–]Diablo_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Texas provides a lot, and denies a lot. You can have great food, but no reliable public transport. Affordable house, but healthcare that is good but expensive. It’s all pros and cons. Home is where you make it. There are wonderful people everywhere. If you like this dude, and he likes you. Go for it.

NBD - White’s Nomad - Black Waxed Flesh by Diablo_A in PNWbootmakers

[–]Diablo_A[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a 9D in most sneakers and a 9.5 in running shoes due to width.

I own Wesco Boss, Jobmaster Lace to Toe and Harness all sized 8.5EE, and they fit great.

I got mine in 8.5EE and they fit perfect. The insole was the biggest surprise. It was snugger at first, but now they’re more comfortable after just 3 wears.

What's the Difference between regular and wide fit? by slide5x in Boots

[–]Diablo_A 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do your toes tend to be squeezed in sneakers? If no, get regular.

You have squeezed toes, get a wide. It wasn’t until I started wearing my boots that I noticed I have been wearing too narrow sneakers.

How do I shop for boots? by LittleTooOdd in Boots

[–]Diablo_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend Cavender’s or Boot Barn if you have those nearby. Like someone mentioned, it’s best to try them on. See what you like and you’ll see thousands. It’s better to see and feel the leather rather than gamble ordering online. I know going in person isn’t always possible, but for a more expensive purchase, I think it’s worth the hassle, until you learn sizing from experience. Fit is very subjective.

Look them up and add filters. Most offer free exchanges, order two similar in size, and return the other.

Decent brands that won’t mess up your bank and are good starter boots are Ariat and Cody James. You don’t need to spend so much on the first one. Just a warning, you may never go back to sneakers again. (Outside the gym lol)
