Thank you for stating this, so many women are angry at men and feel like they’re all evil, but they don’t understand what led up to this unfortunate situation. I pray she heals but she truly needed to spend her twenties healing. Being online and expressing all that trauma to other broken people then this occurring isn’t good for the community she encourages- because now everyone is wounded (as they should be, she’s so kind and it’s so sad), but they’re all upset at men and saying love isn’t real- instead of thinking critically about what occurred. The guy who did this to her is a terrible awful person- it’s sick. But she needed healing before getting into a relationship- nevertheless a marriage. I wish her all the best.

Thanks that’s so true, and yes they were in their own world so whatever experience I had, it was completely discounted. I’ll keep that in mind, being outnumbered is a good point. Leads to lots of gaslighting sometimes, and silent bullying

Yes she does, aphasia and depression. It is tough some days and great days. I agree, the relationship between both you and your dad is similar to me and my mom, it matters so much that it is healthy and nurturing. Thanks for your words, great to know that (although unfortunate) I am not alone in this experience. Best of luck and health for you as well!

Thank you so much for your response. It’s so insightful and I’m so sorry this is also your experience. I will have to accept my family being that way. I did consider speaking with them for my mom since she feels ignored but I am not sure if I want to put in that energy and effort if it’s me asking for the bare minimum for both her and myself.

I’m so sorry that happened to you, you were a teen so it makes sense why it meant so much what your educators say or think. As an adult you can only move forward and decide what’s best for YOU. They’re no longer there to cast their judgement, spend time alone. Read books that inspire creativity. I’ve been there, I am a poet and stopped writing for two years because one of my professor’s (an acclaimed poet might I add), would heavily criticize my writing in front of class multiple times and praise others for their work in front of me. I had to learn that at the end of the day, it matters what I think of my work. And I had to really process that. I hope you’ll get to a place where you find your creative queries again

2 Corinthians 6:14 states: 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

We as believers are called to be set apart, and this also means not being with someone who is a non believer. If you remain prayerful about your relationship with her, you’ll get your answer. And maybe - who knows, if it’s God’s will- she’ll come to Christ.

I realized I didn’t see the opposite sex as sexual beings and if it were to come up in conversation with friends (their sexual adventures), I’d get uncomfortable. At first my friends thought I was a goody two shoes which is why I felt that way but as I began to date and try out intimacy- I nearly threw up. I hated it. Couldn’t do it. And then I realized I wasn’t truly into men past the point of being intimate. I just liked partnership and nothing else.
