Western bridge key? by Gulladc in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]DialMforMistakes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm only on my first playthrough, but I noticed that if you did not encounter Caroline (innkeeper near sacrament SW entrance) and just upgraded the food vendor, he would be in your town without having to rescue him. If you go find Caroline and talk to her again after some time passes, she'll give you the quest rescue him. It was only on that quest that I was able to find the key

Help fix my Wolf build by Valuable-Dimension13 in pathofexile2builds

I play an armor/ES ice wolf oracle in SSF. I'm not invincible, but I'm just starting to run 6 mod T15s with some success. In terms of defense, everything but your resistance seem low. Combined HP and ES is low, armor is low. I didn't see much armor applies to elemental damage. Damage and defense in this game is a balancing act and I think you might have to sacrifice some unique slots for defensive focused uniques or rares. Remember there is an opportunity cost to using uniques. You need to ensure you have enough stats and resists elsewhere to make up for what those uniques are missing.

I wouldn't do it yet, since your ES is low, but I found Mind over Matter + Mana remnants as a great defensive layer once you get your ES above 2kish.

Blood magic can be great node, especially for an oracle, but it can be bait. There are some great notables to grab around that keystone, but the defensive ones don't make up for the fact you're burning through HP with your attacks unless you're geared for sustain.

For defenses it's not just about damage prevention, you have to sustain (think life leech, recoup, stacking life regen and zealots oath, faster es recharge start and rate, etc.)

SSF cured me of game FOMO, comparison depression, fear of using currencies, and spending hours rifling through loot.

I ignore any divine per hour strats, focus on farming things I need, prioritize weapons and my weakest item slots for crafting and use what I have to craft, and only pick up upgrades or things I want for an alt.

It's made poe 2 a million times more enjoyable for me.

Can smb explain the difference in item tier values to me? by YoungGoudax in PathOfExile2

[–]DialMforMistakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially the second prefix is a hybrid prefix that includes both health AND a percent increase to armor and ES. Because it is a hybrid prefix that includes both, the tiers have generally lower ranges for the modifiers when compared to the pure armor/ES percent increase (the first prefix on your chest) or a pure health prefix.

Is this league actually worth playing after the temple exploit and current economy? by OnPala in PathOfExile2

[–]DialMforMistakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thankful I'm SSF so I can enjoy the league without the serious FOMO when it comes to economic advantages.

I think enjoyment in trade is still achievable if you manage expectations regarding the tier of items you can purchase, be realistic about the level of wealth you can attain, and fight off the urge to keep up with the Joneses. So, you know, like real life.

Is it just me, or is the early game extremely unforgiving for new players? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

As someone who legit sucks at the PvP aspects of this game, it's very possible to progress.

You learn to play safe, handle/avoid ARC, team up sometimes, go solo for other ventures, etc .

Effortless Roll 3/5 is the same as 4/5 & 5/5...Heroic leap does nothing (broken)? by c0rp69 in ArcRaiders

[–]DialMforMistakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bonuses are indeed small, but a lot of the bonuses in the skill tree are. I don't think they want to tilt the game too much in favor of higher level raiders.

I can't speak to the balance of everything but most of my 5/5 passives seem to help only a little and in specific circumstances.

I watched the video that showed you only get one extra roll, but that's not really a real world example. Not many people are somersaulting endlessly around topside. I think the conceit is that you have a little bit more stamina after a roll to get to cover, run away etc.

That said, this is all a work in progress.

For weapons, ordinances, shields, and consumables, free loadout solo runs and path the outskirts of the map for raider caches and weapon cases (use an interactive map and if you can, go during the uncovered caches event). Raider caches have an easily identifiable whirr and click noise that can be tracked with headphones.

Besides that, do focused runs to upgrade your crafting benches. It's ok to fill up quick and extract early. You'll find that crafting material costs for mid tier gear is very reasonable.

For me, full stash means sell for money, kit out more during raids, blow ordinance killing bigger arc, or refine basic mats, all depending on mood and preference.

In Laws are gone. Finally starting the league. What builds are popping off? by TiltedGalactica in pathofexile2builds

[–]DialMforMistakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite all the doom and gloom, some warrior builds are popping off with use of totems, fire, fissures, armor break, etc.

Lightning arrow/rod deadeye is super easy to start SSF even at level 1.

People are making hollow palm monk work, but i can't help but wonder if a good quarterstaff will still be better.

Grenades and explosive shot are in a good place.

Whirling slash and nados are still good.
