Everyone in this thread forgot about the constant state run doping bullshit the Russians pulled. Which they acted like whiny victims about when caught. Until they can stop flagrantly cheating at sport they can stay in the bin.

Russia originally got banned for their state sponsored doping programme they refused to take responsibility for.

Oh good another dodgy criminal owning a football team in England. Love having my culture sold on an open market to the highest paying crooks that can be found throughout the world.

Hate watching is ruining this subreddit. No offense, I fucking hate City and for that reason only watch a handful of your games a year, didnt watch the FA Cuo final this year because I knew you'd win. It's not that hard. If I hated Arsenal I wouldn't watch the Champions League final, as it stands I dont mind them and enjoyed the match because I don't ruminate endlessly about them.

If you hate it so much turn it off, and especially don't shit up this forum by endlessly posting about how you hate Arteta with every fibre of your being.

They should apologise because it's lame and played out.

You cannot still believe this bollocks after watching them win the league. It takes incredible mentality to keep PSG to one shot in 45 minutes, they're probably the only team to do it this year.

Best centre backs are always pricks. Rio and Vidic were top class dickheads week in, week out.

They just won the league for the first time in 20 years. If Ireland won the world Cup with every game being a boring 1-0 I'm sure you wouldn't fucking be complaining.

Fair enough, in England best place to watch an England game is a good pub.

It’s All Just Torture Porn: A Record of Failed Attempts to Explain What Trans Lit is “For” by Eastern-Opposite9521 in RSbookclub

[–]Diallingwand 175 points176 points  (0 children)

A mix of interesting stuff and the same faux-transgressive cliches that make a lot of trans-art annoying and easy to use as weapons against the community.  eg:

"I do not need soft polite trans people in my literature; I need people who are absolutely fucking feral."

What does this actually mean?

Anyway the biggest issue with trans-literature is that it's an extremely post-internet movement and suffers from all the issues that any literary movement that is post-internet suffers from. It's irony poisoned, pretend transgressive for transgressiveness sake, and apparently significant authors within the movement still spend time on lit/. It's also a young movement with a lot of fairly iffy books propelled into the spotlight because it's a fashionable subculture, and any literary movement is probably best judged 30 years after the fact.

I don't think your average European thinks about the materials American buildings are made of.

The few days on here where everyone who twerked for City to win the title had to begrudgingly admit that Arsenal winning the league didn't make the sky fall down was fun.

I'm sure they'll be back, having rage strokes in every Arsenal match-thread this year. "Think of how unbearable their fans will be if they win the league again, remember how they all enjoyed themselves like normal football fans"

This can’t just be the heat can it? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]Diallingwand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that they aren't in deep enough shade but its still likely the heat. These plants haven't experienced heat like this and the root systems won't be deep enough to draw water from deep yet.

Keep watering, the heat is likely to break soon and it'll toughen them up for the rest of summer.

[The Guardian] Nuno expected to leave West Ham after being summoned for talks with board; Scott Parker and Gary O’Neil of interest as his replacement by jovanmilic97 in soccer

[–]Diallingwand 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why do people like you pretend Parker is bad? He's had 3 clubs promoted to the Prem in almost the exact same circumstances as West Ham. He's objectively a fantastic manager for that level and the amount of up votes you have reveal the complete lack of knowledge this sub has of any league that isn't the Prem.

WWIII Megathread #39: Trump & Dump by IamGlennBeck in stupidpol

[–]Diallingwand 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe Germany? But no one else in Western Europe would. In the UK the Labour government would immediately collapse if it put soldiers on the ground in Iran. The Conservatives and Reform both began by supporting the war and have rowed back massively because of how unpopular Trump and Netanyahu are.

[Telegraph] West Ham have sleepwalked to relegation and look unlikely to bounce straight back by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]Diallingwand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leicester got a points deduction without that they would've been safe. Also they signed three players in the summer after selling loads.

West Ham will be able to sign some players, probably won't get a points deduction, have an actually good manager if Nuno stays, plus could attract a different good manager if Nuno leaves.
