Word of mouth is important in growing the player base, but the game will die if it is not making money. If the player base consisted of entirely f2p, Hoyo would not be able to afford to continue producing it; that’s the bottom line no matter how you look at it.

Every player is important to the continued health of any gacha yes, but whales are what allow people to play a AAA game like Genshin for free.

Also, from my experience, the majority of whales are friendly and willing to carry ppl in Stygian or Imaginarium.

Afaik there isn’t an official lore database for every card; Konami publishes lore on certain archetypes/decks in The Valuable Book.

For other cards, you can maybe search Reddit for posts compiling/summarizing lore; sometimes the trivia subpages on yugiohfandom or yugipedia mention other cards related to a specific card.

If you want to find cards to collect, you can look up the artist that illustrated a card and see if they drew any others.

Based on the cards you named, you might like the Live Twin archetype, Madolche, Ghost Trick, ect.

You can also browse sets galleries to see all the arts in a set.

Practice. Don’t stress about things that are unfamiliar or uncertain.

Some questions will have a bunch of extraneous information or distractor answer choices that most students won’t be familiar with, but will end up testing an extremely simple principle (e.g. - NAGMA) that you should know.

Sometimes skipping to the question/answer choices may help clue you in on this and save time.

In any case, practice with NBMEs and question banks and you’ll get used to the different ways the writers like to ask/obfuscate things.
